'Grimm: Season One' Announced and Detailed for Blu-ray[teaser]The first season of the hit fantasy series is coming to Blu-ray in August. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Universal Studios says 'Grimm: Season One' will have a Blu-ray release on August 7. Classic Grimm's fairy tales come to life like never before in the "dark and imaginative" (Mike Ayers, CNN.com) supernatural series "Grimm," from the producers of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel." Homicide detective Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli, "Privileged," "Grey's Anatomy") discovers he is descended from a long line of criminal profilers known as "Grimms," protectors who are charged with keeping the balance between humanity and the creatures of myth. With newly awoken abilities to detect the evil lurking among us, Nick struggles to keep his old life separate and safe as he becomes ever more entrenched in the ancient rivalries of the Grimm world. The 5-disc Blu-ray set will feature 1080p video, a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, and supplements will include: deleted scenes, gag reel; THE WORLD OF GRIMM: Get to know the characters and creatures that inhabit the world of "Grimm" and discover the inspiration behind the storylines; MAKING MONSTERS: Go behind the scenes with Andy Clement and Barney Burman as they take viewers through the special makeup effects design and application process. Amazon Launches the 'Never Before on DVD' Store[teaser]There's no Blu-ray as of yet, but You can find plenty of stuff that you won't find anywhere else. [/teaser] Nevermind the movies that you can't find on Blu-ray, there are plenty of TV shows and movies that haven't even been made available on DVD. If you've got any VHS tapes that you just can't bring yourself to trash, you know what we're talking about. Amazon has launched a new service to help out those looking for these rare gems that haven't been made available yet. It's a category appropriately titled Never Before on DVD and it's full of discs that will be made on demand. If you order a DVD, it'll be created just for you and sent out by Amazon. There's no word yet on whether Blu-rays will be added to the service in the future, but if you're looking for the ultra creepy 'Phantom Tollbooth' or if you have a hankerin' for some 'Thundarr the Barbarian' you can at least pick up the DVDs now. The father, Eliezer (Shlomo Bar-Aba, Witness in the War Zone), is a stubborn purist who fears the establishment and has never been recognized for his work. His son, Uriel (Lior Ashkenazi, Walk on Water), is an up-and-coming star in the field, who appears to feed on accolades, endlessly seeking recognition. Then one day, the tables turn. When Eliezer learns that he is to be awarded the Israel Prize, the most valuable honor for scholarship in the country, his vanity and desperate need for validation are exposed. His son, Uriel, is thrilled to see his father's achievements finally recognized but, in a darkly funny twist, is forced to choose between the advancement of his own career and his father's. 'Scalene' Announced for Blu-ray[teaser]Director Zack Parker will triangulate his latest film on Blu-ray in July.
