'Warriors of the Rainbow: Seediq Bale' Blu-ray Announced[teaser]The most expensive Taiwanese production to date arrives on Blu-ray stateside this August. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Well Go USA has dated 'Warriors of the Rainbow: Seediq Bale' for Blu-ray on August 7. The historical drama documents the true story of Taiwan's aboriginals who revolted against the Japanese colonies in the 1930s. The film was also nominated for the Golden Lion award at the Venice Film Festival as well as six Asian Film Awards including Best Director (Te-Sheng Wei) and Best Film. Specs and supplements have yet to be revealed, but suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $32.98. 'Halloween II' & 'Halloween III: Season of the Witch' Announced for Blu-ray[teaser]Collector's Editions of both films are coming from Shout's new horror Scream Factory label in September. [/teaser] In an early press announcement, Shout Factory will release 'Halloween II' and 'Halloween III: Season of the Witch' on September 18. Picking up exactly where the first film left off, 'Halloween II' follows the same ill-fated characters as they once again encounter the knife-wielding maniac they thought they had left for dead. It seems the inhuman Michael Myers is still very much alive and out for more revenge as he stalks the deserted halls of the Haddonfield Memorial Hospital. As he gets closer to his main target, Dr. Loomis (Donald Pleasence) discovers the chilling mystery behind the crazed psychopath’s actions. Written by John Carpenter and Debra Hill, Halloween II is a spine-tingling dark ride into the scariest night of the year. 'Halloween III' - When a terrified toy salesman is mysteriously attacked and brought to the hospital, babbling and clutching the year’s most popular Halloween costume — an eerie pumpkin mask — Dr. Daniel Challis (Tom Atkins, 'The Fog,' 'Night Of The Creeps') is thrust into a terrifying Halloween nightmare. Working with the salesman’s daughter, Ellie (Stacey Nelkin), Daniel traces the mask to the Silver Shamrock Novelties company and its founder, Conal Cochran (Dan O’Herlihy, 'RoboCop'). 'Up - 3D' Blu-ray Dated[teaser]Pixar's 2009 Academy Award-winner will be getting the Blu-ray 3D treatment in December. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Disney/Buena Vista is working on 'Up - 3D' for Blu-ray on December 4. The animated film was nominated for five Oscars (including Best Picture) and won for Best Achievement in Music/Original Score and Best Animated Feature. [/teaser] Denon's DBT-1713UD is the latest universal player to be announced, and it includes all the playback options usually associated with universal players, including SACD and DVD-Audio. Of course, there's more to it than just that. The DBT-1713UD is designed with noise elimination in mind. It sports a silent loading disc transport and fanless construction, which means you won't have to hear those things blowing either.
