'Torchwood: Miracle Day' Blu-ray Up for Pre-Order[teaser]The 10-part fourth season of the sci-fi series is in the works for Blu-ray. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Warner/BBC's 'Torchwood: Miracle Day' appears to be coming to Blu-ray in the near future. John Barrowman ('Doctor Who,' 'Desperate Housewives') and Eve Myles ('Doctor Who,' 'Little Dorrit') are joined by stars Mekhi Phifer ('ER, 'Lie to Me') and Bill Pullman ('While You Were Sleeping,' 'Independence Day') for a new heart-pounding season of 'Torchwood.' When convicted child killer Oswald Danes (Pullman) miraculously survives his own execution, the footage holds America transfixed. And then everyone realizes that nobody is dying. All across the world, nobody dies. And then the next day, and the next, and the next. People keep aging -- they get hurt and sick -- but they never die. The result: a population boom, overnight. With all the extra people, resources are finite. It’s said that in four month's time, the human race will cease to be viable. But this can’t be a natural event – someone’s got to be behind it. It’s a race against time as CIA agent Rex Matheson (Phifer) investigates a secret British institution named Torchwood that seems to hold the answers, and finds only two surviving members: Gwen Cooper (Myles), who has retreated to a remote Welsh hideaway with her new family, and the mysterious, brilliant Captain Jack Harkness (Barrowman). But soon they all find themselves in the same fight against the greatest threat humanity has ever known – humanity itself. 'Zombie Apocalypse' Announced for Blu-ray[teaser]The living dead return to Blu-ray at the end of the month! [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, the Asylum will be releasing 'Zombie Apocalypse' to high-definition on December 27. Golden Globe® winner Ving Rhames ('Pulp Fiction'), Taryn Manning (TV’s “Hawaii Five-0,” “Sons of Anarchy”) and Leslie-Ann Brandt (TV’s “Spartacus”) battle the living, feeding nightmare in 'Zombie Apocalypse.' The cast also includes Eddie Steeples (TV’s “My Name is Earl”), Johnny Pacar (TV’s “Make It or Break It”), Gerald Webb ('Mega Shark vs Crocosaurus,' 'Battle of Los Angeles') and Anya Monzikova ('Iron Man 2'). The film, which debuted October 29, 2011, as part of Syfy Network’s Saturday Original Movies, garnered the most watched Saturday Original movie of the year among adults 18-49 and 25-54, with 2.1 million total viewers. Ramona (Taryn Manning), Billy (Eddie Steeples) and Kevin (Gerald Webb) have just come down from a hideaway in the mountains months after a zombie apocalypse. They are immediately beset by a dozen zombies and rescued by Mack, Cassie, Hammer, and Julian who are on their way to Catalina Island, the last refuge of humanity. They take the newcomers under their wing as they hunt for supplies, kill massive amounts of zombies, and try to survive.
