Blockbuster Reports $11.9 Million in Losses This Quarter[teaser]The rental chain continues to struggle in a market dominated by Redbox. [/teaser] Dish may have saved Blockbuster from complete shutdown but the one giant chain is still having quite a bit of trouble securing a foothold. The company brought in $231 million in revenue for a total loss of $11.9 million. Last year Blockbuster brought in $347 million. One of the big issues, according to Dish, is that new inventory is becoming more expensive. The rising cost of new movies and the decrease in customers are a bad combination for Blockbuster. There's also the issue of Redbox, which is dominating the rental market. It's hard to beat the convenience of the kiosks, even if their selection is more limited. 'Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry' Announced for Blu-ray[teaser]The Special Jury Prize winner at the Sundance Film Festival will receive the Blu-ray treatment in December. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, MPI has revealed they are working on the acclaimed documentary 'Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry' for Blu-ray on December 4. One of the most famous and successful artists in the world, Ai Weiwei has earned international acclaim as much for his provocative art works as for his political activism in the fight against oppression. In Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry, journalist and filmmaker Alison Klayman is granted unprecedented access to Ai to present the first feature-length portrait of the sculptor, photographer, filmmaker and installation artist who was widely praised for his work on the "Bird's Nest" stadium for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. But that same year his criticism of the Chinese government following the Sichuan earthquake that claimed thousands of schoolchildren made him a target of the powers that be. Presenting a rare look inside modern China while documenting the courageous Ai's artistic process in preparation for major museum exhibitions, his intimate exchanges with family members, and his increasingly public clashes with the police and the government, Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry is a unique portrait of the man behind the headlines. Specs have yet to be revealed, but supplements include deleted scenes and the original trailer. Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $29.98. You can find the latest specs for 'Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry' linked from our Blu-ray Release Schedule, where it's indexed under December 4.Posted Mon Nov 5, 2012 at 08:00 AM PST by: -
