Universal to Donate Portion of Proceeds from FAST 6 to Paul Walker's Charity[teaser]Part of the proceeds of every home video purchase of the latest film in the Fast and Furious franchise will be donated to the late actor's charity Reach Out Worldwide. [/teaser] Universal Pictures today announced that a percentage of proceeds from the upcoming home entertainment release of Fast & Furious 6 will be donated to Paul Walker’s non-profit Reach Out WorldWide, a network of professionals with first responder skill-sets who augment local expertise when natural disasters strike in order to accelerate relief efforts. Walker founded the organization after witnessing deficiencies in local activations following the January 2010 Haiti earthquake, and he remained passionately devoted to the charity. “With the passing of Paul, the world has lost a man who spent a great deal of his life in service to others. We share in the deep grief of his family, friends and the countless fans who love him,” said Donna Langley, Chairman, Universal Pictures. “We keep Paul’s memory alive and honor his legacy through continued support of Reach Out WorldWide, the non-profit he founded to give hope to those who must rebuild after they have experienced natural disasters.” Paul Walker’s family has requested that in lieu of flowers or other gifts, donations be made to support Paul’s charity. 'Renfield the Un-Dead' Blu-ray Dated[teaser]Dracula's assistant will step out from under his master's shadow in this horror flick stalking Blu-ray in December. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, R Squared Films is preparing 'Renfield the Un-Dead' for Blu-ray on December 3. R. N. Renfield (Phil Nichols), the mad slave of Dracula, is now an insane vampire stalking a modern day metropolis (Bayou City, Texas). Believed to be a serial killer known as "The Bayou City Butcher", he is relentlessly pursued by Paul Cranston (Paul Damon), a driven detective who always gets his man. Renfield is also sought by Mina Harker (Roxy Cook), now a vampire, along with her hybrid son, Quincy (Tyler Tackett). It is a thrilling game of cat and mouse in which Renfield reveals his ancient history with the vampire lord Dracula, does battle not only with the mortals of Bayou City, but the forces of darkness as well. 'Nothing Special' Blu-ray Announced[teaser]Three women will face conflict and romance in this comedy drama hitting Blu-ray in December. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, R Squared Films is preparing 'Nothing Special' for Blu-ray on December 17. A dark and funny tale of an ambitious young woman at a crucial turning point in her career and her relationship with her bi-polar mother. Louise (Julia Garcia Combs) is an insurance underwriter living in Los Angeles with her mother, May (Karen Black), who has recently been evicted from her Section 8 apartment after the building was condemned. May's shaky grip on reality begins to loosen when she becomes aware of the close relationship between Louise and her trailblazing boss, Catherine (Barbara Bain), whom Louise admires and adores. Catherine is secretly fighting cancer and has an estranged relationship with her own daughter, and reaches out to Louise as a surrogate. At the same time, Catherine is pushing Louise to accept a big promotion, which will compel Louise to relocate to New York. Things heat up when May and Catherine meet by chance on Mother's Day and an alarming confrontation ensues. Throw into the mix a budding romance between Louise and the local bartender, and we find ourselves in the midst of a gripping story of the joys and heartaches of mother-daughter relationships, and the intense emotional lives of three remarkable women living in the shadow of the Hollywood sign. Blu-ray Prepares an 'Escape Plan'[teaser]Stallone and Schwarzenegger will try to bust out of prison in high-def style this February. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Lionsgate/Summit Entertainment will be releasing 'Escape Plan' on Blu-ray on February 4. Structural security specialist Ray Breslin (Sylvester Stallone) is paid to enter high security prisons and escape while highlighting weaknesses in their apparently escape-proof systems. But when he is framed and incarcerated in a prison of his own design which is run by the relentless Warden Hobbes (Jim Caviezel), he has to put his incomparable skills to the ultimate test. However, in order to escape this particular prison he'll need the help of another insider. Luckily he meets fellow prisoner and old-timer Swan Rottmayer (Arnold Schwarzenegger) who agrees to help Ray in his escape, but only if Ray agrees to free him while doing so...
