Wanna Play? 'Child's Play' Getting a Collector's Edition Blu-ray[teaser]The classic horror film has received a new transfer and will be available on Blu-ray in October. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Scream Factory will be releasing 'Child's Play: Collector's Edition' on Blu-ray on October 18. The "chills come thick and fast" (Los Angeles Times) in this riveting, jolt-a-minute thriller about an innocent-looking doll inhabited by the soul of a serial killer who refused to die. From the director of Fright Night, Child's Play comes complete with "excellent special effects" (Leonard Maltin) and a slew of special features that make this Blu-ray your "friend to the end!" Sutton Roley's 'Chosen Survivors' Dated for Blu-ray[teaser]The 1974 horror flick is headed for Blu-ray in October. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Kino will be releasing 'Chosen Survivors' on Blu-ray on October 4. A group of diverse individuals are suddenly taken from their homes and flown via helicopter to a futuristic bomb shelter in the desert, nearly two miles below the surface of the Earth. There they learn that a nuclear holocaust is taking place and that they've been "chosen" by computer to survive in the shelter in order to continue the human race. The shelter is designed to allow the people to exist underground comfortably for years, but they are faced with a threat nobody could have predicted: a colony of thousands of bloodthirsty vampire bats finds a way into the shelter and launches a series of vicious attacks where they claim the humans one by one... For more than fifteen years Police Lieutenant Kinderman (George C. Scott) has been haunted by the death of his friend Father Damien Karras. Now, on the 15th anniversary of the exorcism that claimed the priest's life, Kinderman's world is once again shattered when a boy is found decapitated and savagely crucified. Jon Favreau's 'The Jungle Book' Dated and Detailed for Blu-ray[teaser]The live-action reimagining of the Disney classic is headed for Blu-ray in August.
