Weinstein Planning January Blu-ray Release for 'Superhero Movie'[teaser]The Weinstein Co. has alerted retailers to an early-January Blu-ray bow for the spoof 'Superhero Movie.'[/teaser] Starring Pamela Anderson and Craig Bierko, 'Superhero Movie' failed to make much of a dent at the box office during its brief theatrical run earlier this year. The Weinstein Co. will give the comedy a second shot when it releases the Blu-ray January 6, day-and-date with the standard DVD. Criterion Announces 'El Norte' for Blu-ray[teaser]The Criterion Collection has announced its latest Blu-ray title, setting a late-January date for 'El Norte.'[/teaser] Directed by Gregory Nava, the critically-acclaimed immigrant drama will receive its Blu-ray premiere on January 20. (Criterion previously-released the film on standard DVD as a special edition.) There are no tech or supplement specs as of yet, but a package comparable to the DVD version is expected.
