[/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Universal is preparing to release '12 Monkeys: Season One' on Blu-ray on January 19. Utilizing a dangerous and untested method of time travel, a man from the post-apocalyptic future, James Cole, (Aaron Stanford, Nikita, X2, X-Men: The Last Stand) travels to the present day on a mission to locate and eradicate the source of a deadly plague that will decimate the human race. But as he and virologist, Dr. Cassandra Railly (Amanda Schull, Suits, Center Stage), track the mysterious cult behind the outbreak, the "Army of the 12 Monkeys", the effects of time travel threaten to destroy humanity's last hope. Tense, haunting and daring, 12 Monkeys is a "fast-paced, sci-fi, thriller," (Mary McNamara - LA Times) to experience again and again. 'Zarafa' Dated for Blu-ray[teaser]The animated feature film will arrive on Blu-ray in November. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Cinedigm will be releasing 'Zarafa' on Blu-ray on November 10. Under the cover of darkness, a small boy, Maki, loosens the shackles that bind him and escapes into the desert night. Pursued by slavers across the moon-lit savannah, Maki meets Zarafa, a baby giraffe – and an orphan, just like him – as well as the nomad Hassan, Prince of the Desert. Hassan takes them to Alexandria for an audience with the Pasha of Egypt, who orders him to deliver the exotic animal as a gift to King Charles of France. And so Maki, Zarafa and Hassan take off in a hot-air balloon to cross the Mediterranean, setting off an adventure across Northern Africa, the bustling port of Marseilles, and over the snow-capped peaks of the Alps, arriving at last in Paris. Lucio Fulci's 'Lizard in a Woman's Skin' Bound for Blu-ray[teaser]The Italian giallo thriller is heading to Blu-ray in November. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Mondo Macabro is preparing 'Lizard in a Woman's Skin' for Blu-ray. The film will first be available as a limited edition that is expected in late November. A standard edition is then expected to be released in early 2016. Carol Hammond (Florinda Bolkan, Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion) is a sophisticated politician's daughter who experiences a series of vivid, psychedelic nightmares drenched in depraved sex orgies and LSD. The dreams turns into a nightmare featuring the death of her neighbor, Julia Dürer (Anita Strindberg, The Eroticist). The next day Julia is found brutally murdered in her own apartment. The investigation, conducted by Inspector Corvin (Stanley Baker, The Guns of Navarone), leads to Carol's arrest, however she is released after a mysterious man confesses to Scotland Yard that he is the murderer. Not convinced of Carol's innocence, Corvin continues to investigate the murder and unearths new disturbing clues … Did Carol really do it or is she being framed? Where do her dreams end and reality begin? Robellion Films Readies 'The Color of Noise' for Blu-ray[teaser]The music documentary is now available for pre-order. 'The Color of Noise' is a full length documentary about the Artist Haze XXL (Tom Hazelmyer) and his notorious record label, Amphetamine Reptile Records. Throughout the 80's and 90's the label would achieve almost cult-like status for being adventurous and daring in the midst of a time where safe punk rock would rule the airwaves with a newly accepted style of music by the mainstream college goers, Grunge. Though with AmRep, not only a roster of the most outrageous performers would find a home, but also a legion of poster artists who broke all of the rules. Armed with a computer and an aesthetic of bold imagery, an artist would emerge in Hazelmyer. This is an American mid-west story about a man who created his own path, far from the norm and how he brought along with him countless others who would achieve greatness by sheer proximity and participation. This is the true American underground. Featuring over 50 interviews from across the globe, unearthed live footage of the bands and stunning visuals masterfully edited together resulting in one of the years' best music documentaries. Premiered at Jack White's Third Man Records and taken on a US tour shortly afterwards, 'The Color of Noise' has gained the reputation as one of the most important films about the Noise Rock era. Though the original date was announced as October 20, the collection is now scheduled for November 24. The Quays display a passion for detail, a breathtaking command of color and texture, and an uncanny use of focus and camera movement that make their films unique and instantly recognizable.
