Soundstage Debuts First Blu-ray with 'Sheryl Crow - Live'[teaser]The popular cable concert series Soundstage is coming to high-def, with the November Blu-ray debut of 'Sheryl Crow - Live.'[/teaser] Marking the debut next-gen release for both Soundstage and Sheryl Crow, 'Soundstage: Sheryl Crow - Live' will feature a complete 60-minute performance, captured entirely with HD cameras during a stop on Crow's sold-out 2003 tour. Koch Releasing will debut the Blu-ray on November 11. There are no tech specs yet, nor any announced supplements, but we'll keep you posted. 'The Rocker' Coming to Blu-ray this October (UPDATED)UPDATE 09/03/08: We've received word from Fox Home Entertainment that despite any online retail reports, the Blu-ray of 'The Rocker' has not yet been scheduled. Although the title is planned for release, official confirmation of a street date is pending. We've updated our database in the meantime, and will keep you posted.. [teaser]In a early retailer alert, Fox is planning to bring the 'The Rocker' to Blu-ray this October.[/teaser] Starring Rainn Wilson and Christina Applegate, the musical-themed comedy has so far grossed less than $10 million at the domestic box office. Fox Brings 'Space Chimps' to Blu-ray this November[teaser]The 'Space Chimps' are coming to high-def, with Fox setting a late-November Blu-ray bow for the all-CGI animated adventure. [/teaser] Despite having the misfortune to open this past summer against 'The Dark Knight,' 'Space Chimps' still managed to eke out a respectable $30 million box office gross. The family comedy is likely to perform far better on video, however, when Fox debuts the Blu-ray November 25 (day-and-date with the standard DVD). Filled with "bonus features the whole family will go bananas over," both versions share a "Fox Movie Channel Presents: Casting Session" featurette, a still gallery and TV spots. Exclusive to the Blu-ray is the BD-Java-based "Trivia Blast Off" trivia track featuring on-screen facts about space travel and the NASA Space Program. Sony Unveils Exclusives, Digital Copy for 'Hancock' Blu-ray[teaser]Sony Pictures has set final specs for the November Blu-ray release of 'Hancock,' which will include an unrated version of the film, high-def exclusives, and Digital Copy.[/teaser] As first reported last week, Sony officially announced a November 25 street date for the $200 million-grossing Will Smith blockbuster (day-and-date on Blu-ray and DVD), but stopped short of issuing any specs. Presented in separate unrated and theatrical versions (accessible via seamless branching), 'Hancock' will feature a BD-50 dual-layer presentation in 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video and Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround audio. Newly-confirmed bonus features include a suite of seven featurettes ("Superhumans: The Making of Hancock," "Home Life," "Seeing the Future," "Suiting Up," "Building a Better Hero," "Bumps and Bruises," "Mere Mortals: Behind the Scenes with 'Dirty Pete'"), plus a Digital Copy of the film included on a second standard DVD. 'Meet Dave' Headed to Blu-ray[teaser]Fox has announced plans to bring the Eddie Murphy comedy 'Meet Dave' to Blu-ray this November.[/teaser] Grossing a mere $12 million at the domestic box office, Fox hopes to give the Brian Robbins-directed, effects-laden comedy a second chance on video when it releases the film on blu-ray November 25 (day-and-date with the standard DVD). Fox will present 'Meet Dave' on a BD-25 single-layer disc with 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video and English DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround audio. Warner Announces 'I Am Legend' Blu-ray Collector's Edition[teaser]Warner has unveiled the latest addition to its growing line of Blu-ray double-dips, with the early-December release of 'I Am Legend: Ultimate Collector's Edition.'[/teaser] Originally released earlier this year in relatively bare bones Blu-ray and HD DVD editions, Warner will re-launch the Will Smith sci-fi blockbuster on December 9 as a two-disc Blu-ray (day-and-date with new two-disc and three-disc DVD versions). Kicking off the hours of new bonus features on disc one is the theatrical version of the film with audio commentary by director Francis Lawrence and producer-screenwriter Akiva Goldsman,the 21-part documentary "Creating I Am Legend," the featurette "Cautionary Tale," four animated comics and the theatrical trailer. Disc two includes the alternate version of the film plus a pair of "Behind the Story" featurettes, 12 deleted scenes, and a Digital Copy of the film for use on PCs, portable video players and Mac-based devices. Exclusive to the Blu-ray will be Focus Points, allowing you to watch the theatrical version of the film while exploring the making of 'I Am Legend' (Profile 1.1 required). The 'Ultimate Collector's Edition' will also come housed in a deluxe package including a 44-page concept sketch book, a lenticular commemorative image from the film, and six collectible art cards. 'The F Word' Coming to Blu-ray[teaser]Cinevolve has announced plans to bring the controversial 2005 docu-fiction film 'The F Word' to Blu-ray this October.[/teaser] Directed by Jed Weintrob, 'The F Word' is a fiction/documentary hybrid about Joe Pace, a radio talk show host whose program, "The F Word," is being shut down by the F.C.C. Previously released on DVD, Cinevolve will launch the Blu-ray on October 21. At press time there were no announced supplements.
