More 'Dragon Ball Z' Bound for Blu-ray[teaser]FUNimation has announced its next blast of Dragon Ball Z, with a double-header of 'Super Android 13' and 'Bojack Unbound' planned for Blu-ray this February.[/teaser] Like the company's previous Dragon Ball Z double-feature releases, 'Dragon Ball Z: Super Android 13/Bojack Unbound' will present both full-length animes on a single BD-50 dual-layer disc. FUNimation has set a February 10 street date for 'Return of the Cooler/Cooler's Revenge.' There were no tech specs or supplemental details available at press time, but we'll keep you posted. As with past 'Dragon Ball Z' releases, suggested list price for the Blu-ray has been set at $34.95. Rumor Patrol: 'Seven Pounds' Due on Blu in March[teaser]Though it's still ensconced in the box office top ten, early specs have begun to leak for a March Blu-ray release of 'Seven Pounds.'[/teaser] The mysterious Will Smith thriller, which has so far received a mixed response from critics and audiences (to the tune of a $60 million box office take and counting), has been given a March 17 Blu-ray release by Sony Pictures. That marks an unusually speedy turn-around following the film's domestic theatrical debut this past December. Early known supplement specs include a trio of featurettes ("Seven Views on Seven Pounds," "Creating the Perfect Ensemble," "Emily's Passion: The Art of the Printing Press") and deleted scenes. At press time, there is no confirmed MSRP. Again, Sony has yet to officially announce 'Seven Pounds' for Blu-ray, so at this point the information should remain safely in the rumor department. We'll keep you posted. Warner Announces 'Gigi' for Blu-ray[teaser]Warner has confirmed its latest classic release for high-def, bringing the musical favorite 'Gigi' to Blu-ray in late-March.[/teaser] Previously released as a lavish two-disc DVD last year, Warner will bring the Leslie Caron classic to Blu-ray on March 31 as a special edition loaded with extras. Comparable to the standard DVD, bonus features include audio commentary with Caron and film historian Jeanine Basinger, the "Thank Heaven! The Making of Gigi" documentary, a pair of vintage shorts ("The Million Dollar Nickel ," "The Vanishing Duck" and the theatrical trailer. Included on a second disc is a complete alternate version of the film, the 1949 non-musical interpretation starring Daniele Delorme and directed by Jacqueline Audry. Learn 'How to Lose Friends & Alienate People' This February[teaser]The romantic comedy 'How to Lose Friends & Alienate People' is headed to high-def, with MGM setting a mid-February bow for the Blu-ray.[/teaser] Starring Simon Pegg and Kirsten Dunst, 'How to Lose Friends & Alienate People' did mostly that at the domestic box office last year, but it will get another shot to win over audiences when MGM/Fox debuts the film on Blu-ray February 17 (day-and-date with the standard DVD). Warner Exposes 'Body of Lies' Blu-ray Details[teaser]Warner has exposed final specs for 'Body of Lies,' which arrives on Blu-ray in mid-February with exclusive content and Digital Copy.[/teaser] As previously announced, Warner will debut the Leonardo DiCaprio-Russell Crowe box office disappointment on Blu-ray February 17, day-and-date with the standard DVD. Newly-confirmed extras include audio commentary with director Ridley Scott, screenwriter William Monahan, and original novel author David Ignatius, the "Interactive Debriefing" featurette and deleted scenes (both in HD). Exclusive to the Blu-ray is "Actionable Intelligence: Deconstructing Body of Lies," where key sequences are explored in depth via on-set footage and cast/crew interviews and exclusive features via BD-Live.
