Image Entertainment has announced a late-September next-gen release for the Discovery Channel documentary series 'When We Left Earth.'

Chronicling the historic early days of the NASA space program, 'When We Left Earth: The NASA Mission' is culled from hundreds of hours of never-before-seen film footage including historic space flights, and features narration by Gary Sinise.

Featuring all six episodes ("Ordinary Supermen," "Friends and Rivals," "Landing the Eagle," "The Explorers," "The Shuttle," "Home in Space") spread across four discs, tech specs boast 1080 video (1.78:1) and DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround.

According to TV Shows On DVD, interview subjects include "astronauts Gene Kranz, John Glenn, Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, Jim Lovell, Fred Haise, Bob Crippen, and John Young."

Suggested retail price for the Blu-ray has been set at $69.98.
