Sony will bring the chick-lit drama 'The Jane Austen Book Club' to Blu-ray this February, in a special edition boasting a library's worth of supplemental features.
Despite an all-star cast including Emily Blunt, Maria Bello, Hugh Dancy, Maggie Grace and Kathy Baker, 'The Jane Austen Book Club' failed to make much of a dent at the fall box office, earning a meager gross of less than $5 million.
Sony will give the film another push with a February 5, 2008 bow on both Blu-ray and standard-def DVD, promising an extensive set of supplements.
Extras shared by both releases will include an audio commentary with cast & crew (exact participants TBA), four featurettes ("Behind-the-Scenes of The Jane Austen Book Club," "The Life of Jane Austen," "Walking the Red Carpet: Los Angeles Premiere," "The Book Club: Deconstructed") and deleted scenes.
Tech specs for the Blu-ray boast 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video and uncompressed PCM 5.1 Surround (48kHz/24-bit) audio.
Sony has set a suggested list price of $38.95 for the Blu-ray.
