Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has two rather different films on tap for Blu-ray for early 2007, when it will release the blockbuster 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' and the documentary 'Winged Migration.'
'Crouching Tiger' remains the most financially successful foreign film ever released in the U.S. with a box office take of over $100 million, while 'Winged Migration' also scored very healthy returns for a nature documentary. Other than that, about the only thing they have in common on Blu-ray is a release date of January 16.
Both will receive 1080p/MPEG-2 transfers and Dolby Digital 5.1 surround tracks, while unheard of for a Sony title, 'Crouching Tiger' does not appear to also include an uncompressed PCM 5.1 option.
Extras include audio commentary and a featurette on both titles, while 'Crouching Tiger' also includes an additional interview with star Michelle Yeoh.
Sony has set a $28.95 suggested list price for each title.
The latest specs for both can now be found in our Blu-ray Release Schedule, and stay tuned for box art in the coming days.
