The action romance starring Chilean legend Marko Zaror explodes on Blu-ray in February.
In an early announcement to retailers, Magnolia is working on 'Mandrill' for a Blu-ray release on February 28.
From writer/director Ernesto Diaz Espinoza ('Mirageman,' 'Kiltro'), 'Mandrill' stars worldwide action icon Marko Zaror ('Mirageman,' 'Undisputed III: Redemption'), “one of the best martial arts actors working today” (Twitch). Hailed as “an amazingly cool film” (Film School Rejects), the thriller won top honors at its international premiere at Austin’s 2009 Fantastic Film Fest, winning Best Fantastic Feature and Zaror winning Best Fantastic Actor.

From the producers of 'Brother' and 'Fireworks,' “the truly iconic international crime film” (Twitch), 'Outrage: Way of the Yakuza' begins when a boss of the notorious Japanese crime syndicate, the “yakuza,” issues an order to his associates to keep a rival gang in line. 'Happy, Happy' Blu-ray Features Added
Fri Dec 09, 2011 at 01:00 PM ETTags: Magnolia, Disc Announcements (all tags)
Supplements have now been added to the award-winning Norwegian comedy coming to high-definition in January.
As previously reported, Magnolia says 'Happy, Happy' is coming to Blu-ray on January 24.
Filled with “first-rate” performances (Variety), the “fitfully amusing film” (The Village Voice), the feature debut from award-winning* Norwegian filmmaker Anne Sewitsky, 'Happy Happy,' “abounds with joy and sadness” (Film.com) as it follows two couples whose lives are turned upside down.
Agnes Kittelsen ('Max Manus') stars as Kaja, an optimistic young mother with a firm belief happiness is the most important thing in the world. Never allowing anyone to change her merry mindset, Kaja continues to remain cheerful, even while sharing her snowy rural home with a brooding, unappreciative boyfriend. When an urban, erudite couple with an adopted Ethiopian son moves next door, Kaja is thrilled and exhilarated at the prospect of interesting new friends. Yet after a night of bonding, admiration turns to romance and Kaja’s life is permanently changed.
The Blu-ray will feature 1080p video, a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, and the only supplements are U.S. and international trailers.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $29.98.

'Blackthorn' Announced for Blu-ray
Wed Nov 09, 2011 at 11:00 AM ETTags: Magnolia, Disc Announcements (all tags)
Butch Cassidy will ride again on Blu-ray this December!
In an early announcement to retailers, Magnolia says 'Blackthorn' is coming to Blu-ray on December 20.
Sam Shepard ('Brothers,' 'The Assassin of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford') delivers “a beautifully understated performance” (The Hollywood Reporter) in the “elegiac, beautifully shot Western” (New York Post) 'Blackthorn.' It’s been said (but unsubstantiated) that Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid were killed in a standoff with the Bolivian military in 1908. In 'Blackthorn,' Cassidy (Shepard) survived, and is quietly living out his years under the name James Blackthorn in a secluded Bolivian village. Tired of his long exile from the U.S. and hoping to see his family again before he dies, Cassidy sets out on the long journey home. However, when an unexpected encounter with an ambitious young criminal (Eduardo Noriega, 'The Devil’s Backbone,' 'Open Your Eyes') derails his plans, he is thrust into one last adventure, the likes of which he hasn’t experienced since his glory days with the Sundance Kid.
Co-starring Academy Award winner Stephen Rea ('Ondine,' 'The Crying Game') and Nicolaj Coster-Waldau (“The Game Of Thrones,” 'Kingdom Of Heaven'), 'Blackthorn' was directed by three-time Goya winner Mateo Gil and was shot on location in the breathtaking Bolivian landscape, believed to be Cassidy’s final resting place.
Specs and supplements have yet to be revealed, but suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $29.98.

Blu-ray Gets 'Happy, Happy'
Tue Oct 25, 2011 at 11:00 AM ETTags: Magnolia, Disc Announcements (all tags)
The award-winning Norwegian comedy is coming to high-definition in January.
In an early announcement to retailers, Magnolia says 'Happy, Happy' is coming to Blu-ray on January 24.
The film directed by Anne Sewitsky won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for three Amanda Awards in Norway including Best Score, Best Actress (Agnes Kittelsen), and Henrik Rafaelsen won for Best Actor.
Family is the most important thing in the world to Kaja. She is an eternal optimist in spite of living with a man who would rather go hunting with the boys, and who refuses to have sex with her because she isn't particularly attractive anymore. Whatever. That's life. But when the perfect couple moves in next door, Kaja struggles to keep her emotions in check. Not only do these successful, beautiful, exciting people sing in a choir; they have also adopted a child - from Ethiopia. These new neighbors open a new world to Kaja, with consequences for everyone involved. And when Christmas comes around, it becomes evident that nothing will ever be like before - even if Kaja tries her very best.
Specs and supplements have yet to be revealed, but suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $29.98.
