[/teaser] As previously reported, MGM/UA will be bringing 'Platoon,' featuring a young Charlie Sheen in his breakout performance, to Blu-ray on May 24. The remastered, first-ever Blu-ray edition brings the sounds and images of Oliver Stone’s critically acclaimed Vietnam War drama to life in an entirely new way. 'Platoon' received eight Academy Award® nominations, winning four: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Sound and Best Film Editing. The all-star cast includes Sheen, Tom Berenger, Willem Dafoe, John C. 'Take Me Home Tonight' Announced for Blu-ray[teaser]The 1980s flashback comedy is bound for Blu-ray this July. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, 20th Century Fox is preparing 'Take Me Home Tonight' for Blu-ray on July 19. The raunchy R-rated film is set in 1988 and stars Topher Grace as a college grad chasing his dream girl at a wild Labor Day weekend party. The movie co-stars Anna Faris, Dan Fogler, and Teresa Palmer. Specs have yet to be revealed, but supplements include deleted scenes, a music video, music boombox, trailer and TV spots, and a digital copy. Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $39.99. 'Limitless' Blu-ray Announced[teaser]Bradley Cooper will have no limits on Blu-ray this July. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, 20th Century Fox is working on 'Limitless' for a Blu-ray release on July 19. The action thriller co-starring Abbie Cornish and Robert De Niro is based on the 2001 novel "The Dark Fields" by Alan Glynn and is directed by Neil Burger ('The Illusionist'). Specs have yet to be revealed, but the release will include an unrated extended cut of the film as well as the following supplements: A Man Without Limits, Taking It to the Limit: The Making of Limitless, Audio Commentary with director Neil Burger, Alternate Ending; Theatrical Trailer, and a Digital Copy. 'Damnation Alley' Blu-ray Features Added[teaser]More details are available for the 1977 cult post-apocalyptic thriller nuking Blu-ray in July. [/teaser] As previously reported, Shout Factory will release 'Damnation Alley' starring Jan-Michael Vincent, George Peppard, and a young Jackie Earle Haley on Blu-ray on July 12. A small group of survivors at a military installation who survived World War 3 attempt to drive across the desolate wasteland to where they hope more survivors are living. Hopefully their specially built vehicles will protect them against the freakish weather mutated plant and animal life and other dangers along the way. [/teaser] In an early retailer announcement, the Criterion Collection is planning to bring 'The Battle of Algiers' to Blu-ray on August 9.
