'The Killing: The Complete First Season' Blu-ray Announced and Detailed[teaser]The U.S. adaptation of the Danish TV series 'Forbrydelsen' will have a March Blu-ray release. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, 20th Century Fox has just revealed 'The Killing: The Complete First Season' will hit the Blu-ray format on March 13. The AMC original crime drama series from the producer of 'Cold Case' revolves around the hunt for a teenage girl's killer and stars Mireille Enos, Joel Kinnaman, Billy Campbell, and Michelle Forbes. The 3-disc set will feature 1080p video, a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, and supplements include: audio commentaries on the pilot and season finale, extended cut of the finale, Autopsy of The Killing, deleted scenes, and a gag reel. Panasonic Reveals Six New Blu-ray Players - Four of Which are 3D Capable[teaser]The 3D players can convert streaming content from Netflix, YouTube and more to 3D.[/teaser] While some of the biggest news from CES has been the launch of new TV technologies, Blu-ray players aren't to be forgotten. Panasonic has six that they'll be releasing in 2012, a few of which offer some potentially exciting features. All four of Panasonic's new 3D Blu-ray players are capable of smartphone control, 24p output for VOD movies, a new processor and the ability to convert 2D content to 3D. That includes DVDs, Blu-rays and anything on Viera Connect aside from Skype, which means 3D Netflix is possible. Three out of the four players also give you a 192kHz/32bit Audio DAC. Panasonic's whole line of new players get some nice new features, like the ability to play back FLAC files. 'Gremlins 2: The New Batch' Announced for Blu-ray[teaser]The sequel to Joe Dante's classic dark comedy will be bringing mischief and mayhem to Blu-ray in May. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Warner Brothers says 'Gremlins 2: The New Batch' will have a Blu-ray release on May 8. Billy Peltzer (Zach Galligan) and Kate Beringer (Phoebe Cates) move to New York City and meet up with their Mogwai friend, Gizmo (Howie Mandel), when a series of accidents creates a new generation of diverse gremlins. Billy, Kate, and Gizmo must once again use all their experience to prevent another catastrophe. Specs have yet to be revealed, but supplements include: Audio Commentary with director Joe Dante and producer Michael Finnell, over 20 minutes of never-before-seen deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes documentary, and cast/crew filmographies. 'Columbus Circle' Announced for Blu-ray[teaser]The dark and suspenseful psychological thriller will debut on Blu-ray in March. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Universal Studios is preparing 'Columbus Circle' for Blu-ray on March 6. When a murder mystery next door forces agoraphobic heiress Abigail Clayton (Selma Blair – 'Hellboy,' “Kath and Kim”) to face her terrifying new neighbors, the safe and solitary world she created for herself violently unravels. In order to escape the hounding public and press, Abigail, the famous daughter of a wealthy industrialist, secluded herself in her Manhattan loft on the day she received her enormous inheritance – her eighteenth birthday. Sequestered at the top of the Columbus Circle luxury apartment high-rise, Abigail remained seemingly secure for nearly 20 years until the day her elderly neighbor was suddenly slain.
