'Alcatraz: The Complete Series' Blu-ray Announced[teaser]All 13 episodes of J.J. Abrams' short-lived sci-fi series will be transported to Blu-ray in October. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Warner Brothers says 'Alcatraz: The Complete Series' is coming to high-definition on October 16. In 1963, all prisoners were transferred from Alcatraz Island Federal Penitentiary. Or so we were told. Now America's worst criminals - known as the 63s - are returning to the streets of San Francisco to repeat their grisly crimes. It's up to top-notch Detective Rebecca Madsen (Sarah Jones, 'Sons of Anarchy: Season Two) and Alcatraz expert Diego 'Doc' Soto (Jorge Garcia, 'Lost: The Complete Collection') to work with FBI Agent Emerson Hauser (Sam Neill, 'Dead Calm') and Dr. Lucy Banerjee (Parminder Nagra, 'Batman: Gotham Knight') to learn why the 63s are back and to uncover a much larger, more sinister threat. 'Empire of the Sun: 25th Anniversary Edition' Blu-ray Postponed[teaser]Steven Spielberg's WWII epic is no longer coming to Blu-ray in June. [/teaser] As previously reported, Warner Brothers was getting ready to release 'Empire of the Sun: 25th Anniversary Edition' on Blu-ray on June 19, but it seems the release has been postponed without a new date at this time. The movie stars a young Christian Bale as a privileged English boy who has to learn how to survive on his own after being separated from his parents during Shanghai's occupation by the Japanese. The film also stars Miranda Richardson, John Malkovich, and Ben Stiller.
