'Abraham Lincoln' Dated for Blu-ray[teaser]D.W. Griffith's 1930 film will get elected to Blu-ray in November. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Kino will be releasing 'Abraham Lincoln' on Blu-ray on November 13. The episodic biography of the 16th President of the United States stars Walter Huston, Una Merkel and William L. Thorne. Specs and supplements haven't been revealed yet, but the film will be restored and remastered in HD for the first time ever. Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is still undetermined at this time. 'The Babymakers' Blu-ray Announced[teaser]The movie from Jay Chandrasekhar ('Super Troopers' and 'Beerfest') will be expecting on Blu-ray this September. 'The Beatles: Magical Mystery Tour' Blu-ray Announced[teaser]The 1967 film from the Fab Four arrives on Blu-ray this fall. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Capitol Records is working on 'The Beatles: Magical Mystery Tour' for Blu-ray on October 9. In September 1967 The Beatles embarked on making their third film, this time conceived and directed by themselves. Based on a loose unscripted narrative, in the spirit of the experimental mood of the time, and directed by The Beatles themselves, the film became the vehicle to present 6 new songs - Magical Mystery Tour, The Fool On The Hill, Flying, I Am The Walrus, Blue Jay Way and Your Mother Should Know. Now, 45 years on, the virtually forgotten film has been fully restored and is being presented properly for the first time. The restoration of 'Magical Mystery Tour' has been overseen by Paul Rutan Jr. of Eque Inc., the same company that handled the much acclaimed restoration of 'Yellow Submarine.' The soundtrack work was done at Abbey Road Studios by Giles Martin and Sam Okell.
