The Acclaimed Romantic Comedy 'Elsa & Fred' Blu-ray Bound[teaser]The film stars Christopher Plummer and Shirley MacLaine and will be released on Blu-ray at the end of the month. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Millennium Media says 'Elsa & Fred' will arrive on Blu-ray on December 30. 'Elsa & Fred' is the story of two people who, at the end of the road, discover that it's never too late to love. After losing his wife, Fred (Plummer) feels disturbed, confused and alone, so his daughter (Marcia Gay Harden) helps move him into a small apartment where he meets Elsa (MacLaine). From that moment on, everything changes. Elsa bursts into Fred’s life like a whirlwind, determined to teach him that the time he has left to live—be it more or less—is precious and that he should enjoy it as he pleases. After making its world premiere at the 31st Annual Miami International Film Festival, Millennium Entertainment released the film theatrically on November 7th. In his review for the New York Times, Stephen Holden declares, “Ms. MacLaine and Mr. Plummer make an especially compatible match.” Specs and supplements have yet to be revealed, but suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $24.99. From director Jorg Buttgereit comes Nekromantik 2, the gore horror sequel to his 1987 classic Nekromantik. Monika (Monika M.) is a beautiful necrophiliac who lives alone in Berlin. By day she works as a nurse. By night she prowls through cemeteries while searching for fresh corpses. When she reads about the suicide of Rob (Nekromantik's Daktari Lorenz) she finds his grave to dig up his body and brings it home. Mark (Mark Reeder) lives across town and makes his living dubbing sex films. After meeting Monika, romance blossoms and they fall in love. But all is not well in Monika's world. Her relationship with Mark begins to falter and she has to make a final choice between loving the living or the dead. Justin Simien's Acclaimed Satire 'Dear White People' Dated and Detailed for Blu-ray[teaser]The film stars Tyler James Williams, Kyle Gallner, Dennis Haysbert, Tessa Thompson, and Teyonah Parris and will arrive in stores in February. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Lionsgate will be releasing 'Dear White People' on Blu-ray on February 3. Loosely based on Simien's own experiences as an undergraduate at a predominantly white university, Dear White People is "a smart, hilarious satire of the Obama age" (Indiewire) and is "the very definition of a conversation-starter" (Los Angeles Times).
