Christopher Guest's 'A Mighty Wind' Blu-ray Now Available[teaser]The 2003 comedy has received the high-definition treatment and is now available on Blu-ray. [/teaser] As previously reported, Warner Archive has revealed 'A Mighty Wind' will arrive on Blu-ray this year, and the title has been released on February 9. In A Mighty Wind, director Christopher Guest reunites the team from Best in Show and Waiting for Guffman to tell the story (co-written by Eugene Levy) of '60s-era folk musicians, who, inspired by the death of their former manager, get back on the stage for one concert in New York City's Town Hall. Levy and Catherine O'Hara are Mitch and Mickey, once the sweethearts of folk music until their bitter separation; Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer are classic folk trio The Folksmen, and Parker Posey, John Michael Higgins and Jane Lynch anchor a color-coordinated, harmonizing "neuftet" - the New Main Street Singers. Joining the musicians are Bob Balaban, Ed Begley, Jr., Jennifer Coolidge, Paul Dooley, Michael Hitchcock, Don Lake, Larry Miller, Jim Piddock, Deborah Theaker and Fred Willard, who all work to revive folk music in this uniquely touching comedy. Christian Marquand's 'Candy' Blu-ray Announced[teaser]The 1968 film has received a new 2K restoration and will be available on Blu-ray in May. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Kino says 'Candy' will arrive on Blu-ray on May 17. Candy Christian (Ewa Aulin) is an innocent yet luscious high school student when fate sends her on a far-out journey of sexual discovery. Ryoo Seung-wan's 'Veteran' Blu-ray Bound[teaser]The Korean action-thriller is headed for Blu-ray in April. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, CJ Entertainment will be releasing 'Veteran' on Blu-ray on April 5. Following his 2010 hit crime drama, The Unjust, which depicted corruption entangling the privileged class with a cleverly structured plot and dynamic action sequences, and the 2013 espionage thriller The Berlin File, which set a new box office record for domestic spy films, Ryoo Seung-wan returns with his latest action crime drama, Veteran. After an international auto theft sting, major crimes detective Do-cheol is treated to a night at an exclusive club where he is introduced to Sunjin Group's third-in-line, Tae-oh. Animosity quickly arises between the two as Tae-oh's rude behavior rubs Do-cheol the wrong way. Convinced that Tae-oh is a drug addict, Do-cheol tries to investigate, but is stopped by his boss. Meanwhile, Tae-on runs into Bae, a truck driver who helped Do-cheol with his auto theft case, protesting outside the company headquarters to get his overdue wages. Tae-oh invites Bae up to his office to write him a cheque. But Bae isn't let off easily -- not before he is humiliated and beaten for Tae-oh's amusement. Bae is subsequently hospitalized but his son finds Do-cheol's card and calls for help. Do-cheol feels responsible and decides to get Tae-oh, no matter how much Tae-oh tries to sabotage the investigation. No other details have been revealed at this time. DC's 'Justice League vs Teen Titans' Blu-ray Dated[teaser]The animated film is coming to Blu-ray in April. A separate Deluxe Edition (w/Figure) will also be released that same day. Soon after Damian joins the Teen Titans as Robin, a rift develops between the Justice League and the Titans over Raven, whom the JL sees as being in league with her father, the demon Trigon, while the Titans see her as his victim.
