C.R. MacNamara (Cagney), a top-ranking executive stationed in West Berlin, is charged with the care of his boss' visiting daughter. Paul Naschy's 'Inquisition' Blu-ray Bound[teaser]The 1973 film is headed for two Blu-ray editions this year. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Mondo Macabro is working on 'Inquisition' for Blu-ray sometime in June. However, a limited edition release will be available in April. 'Inquisition' is a period film set during the Inquisition about a witch-finder general who falls in love with a village beauty who has made a pact with the devil to seduce and condemn the man who is killing off Satan's servants. The release will be region-free worldwide and will feature a HD transfer from the original negative. The disc will also include Spanish and English language tracks; new created optional English subtitles; Audio commentary by Rod Barnett and Troy Guinn of the Naschycast; Archival video introduction to the film by Paul Naschy; "Blood and Sand", Eurotika! documentary on Spanish horror; Mondo Macabro previews; and Brand new cover illustration by Gilles Vranckx. The limited edition release will be limited to 666 numbered copies and will add a reversible cover; a booklet featuring brand new writing on the film by Pete Tombs; and of course, the red case. 'Fifty Shades Darker' Announced and Detailed for Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray[teaser]The steamy sequel starring Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson is headed for home video in May. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Universal Studios is working on 'Fifty Shades Darker' for Blu-ray and Ultra HD Blu-ray on May 9. When a wounded Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan, "The Fall," Anthropoid) tries to entice a cautious Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson, How to Be Single, Black Mass) back into his life, she demands a new arrangement before she will give him another chance. As the two begin to build trust and find stability, shadowy figures from Christian's past start to circle the couple. There have been many courtroom dramas over the years, but none quite like The Paradine Case. The masterful collaboration of producer David O. Selznick and director Alfred Hitchcock brings tension to an all-time high in this powerful and dramatic film. The lovely Mrs. Paradine (Ann Todd) is accused of poisoning her older, blind husband. She hires lawyer Anthony Keane (Gregory Peck) to represent her. Though Keane is married to a striking and devoted woman, he finds himself strangely attracted to his glamorous defendant. His deepening feelings convince him of her innocence, even though the evidence and his sense of reason may indicate otherwise. 'I Am Not Your Negro' Bound for Blu-ray[teaser]The documentary film is coming to Blu-ray in May.[/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Magnolia is preparing I Am Not Your Negro for Blu-ray on May 2. In 1979, James Baldwin wrote a letter to his literary agent describing his next project, "Remember This House." The book was to be a revolutionary, personal account of the lives and successive assassinations of three of his close friends – Medgar Evers, Malcolm X and Martin Luther King, Jr. At the time of Baldwin's death in 1987, he left behind only thirty completed pages of his manuscript. Now, in his incendiary new documentary, master filmmaker Raoul Peck (Sometimes In April) envisions the book Baldwin never finished. The result is a radical, up-to-the-minute examination of race in America, using Baldwin's original words and flood of rich archival material. I Am Not Your Negro is a journey into black history that connects the past of the Civil Rights movement to the present of #BlackLivesMatter. It is a film that questions black representation in Hollywood and beyond. And, ultimately, by confronting the deeper connections between the lives and assassination of these three leaders, Baldwin and Peck have produced a work that challenges the very definition of what America stands for.
