Criterion's Next Game Has Everything to do With Racing and Nothing to do With Cars

Criterion Game

EA at E3.

Criterion, best known for 'Burnout' and a few recent 'Need for Speed' entries, is apparently sick of cars. The small studio, downgraded after 'Need for Speed: Most Wanted' came out, is sticking with racing, but broadening their scope to any vehicle under the sun and any envronment that vehicle might touch.

In the early-in-development footage they showed, helicopters, atvs, boats, jet skis and more all zoomed across the screen, and all of the gameplay was in first-person. As our first look at this untitled, undated game, EA likely isn't planning on showing more for a while.

At least Criterion is out of the 'Need for Speed' shadow now.
