First spotted by eagle-eyed early adopters online, an update to Warner's consumer high-def site revealed dozens of as-yet-unconfirmed next-gen titles late Friday.
Although it's unclear whether the list was in fact intended for publication (the studio apparently underwent some database upgrades last week, which may have introduced a glitch), the listed titles from the format-neutral studio are certainly tantalizing for high-def disc fans on both sides of the aisle.
Included in the list are first-ever hints of possible next-gen release for such catalog favorites as 'Batman,' 'Bonnie & Clyde,' 'Clash of the Titans,' 'Dirty Harry,' 'The Exorcist,' 'Shawshank Redemption' and 'Wizard of Oz.' Listings for 'Taking Lives' and 'Twister' even include box art, suggesting that at least those two releases are fairly far along in the planning stages.
A complete list of the newly-added titles can be found in this thread in our forums area.
We should emphasize that none of the titles included in the newly discovered listings have been officially confirmed by Warner, so for now, it's recommended that we all take the revelation of these new possible titles with a grain of salt.
Needless to say, we'll let you know if/when the studio officially announces any of these titles for next-gen release. Stay tuned!
