Universal to Bring 'Bourne' Trilogy to Blu

Posted Nov 19, 2008 at 12:00 PM PST by Peter Bracke

Super spy Jason Bourne is headed to Blu-ray, with Universal announcing a late-January launch for the 'The Bourne Collection.'

Previously released on HD DVD and one of the format's biggest-sellers, the complete blockbuster trilogy -- 'The Bourne Identity,' 'The Bourne Supremacy,' and 'The Bourne Ultimatum' -- will at last make their Blu-ray debut on January 27 as the three-disc 'The Bourne Collection.'

Tech specs will see each feature presented on its own BD-50 dual-layer disc with 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video and a English DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround track.

Extras on all three titles will mirror the previous HD DVD and DVD versions, and include multiple audio commentaries, making-of featurettes, deleted scenes and more.

Exclusive content boasts U-Control extras on each disc in the set, with all three films receiving its own picture-in-picture commentary track (Bonus View), interactive dossiers on the characters, a "Bourne Card Battle Strategy Game" and "Bourne Reminders."

BD-Live extras on each title include My Scenes Sharing and an online playable version of the "Bourne Card Battle" game.

At press time, Universal has not announced stand-alone releases of the 'Bourne' films outside of the box set, but we'll keep you posted.

There is no suggested list price as yet available for the Blu-ray box set, but watch this space...
