Sony Unveils Specs for 'Superbad' Blu-ray

Sony has announced final specs for the hotly-anticipated Blu-ray release of 'Superbad,' which is sure to get plenty of McLovin' from fans with two full discs of bonus features and HD exclusive content.

The sleeper hit of the summer, the $130 million-grossing 'Superbad' exceeded even the rosiest expectations, and it looks like Sony is seeking to do the same with the DVD and Blu-ray versions, which as announced late last month will hit stores day-and-date December 4.

A rare two-disc Blu-ray release for the studio, 'Superbad' will boast a slew of bonus features, all confirmed to be presented in full 1080 high-def video. Among the extras are multiple audio commentaries with cast & crew, the "Making of 'Superbad'" documentary, multiple featurettes, deleted and extended scenes, an alternate title sequence, gag reel, cast auditions, on-set video diaries, early "table reads," and more.

Exclusive to the Blu-ray release will be a unique subtitle track entitled "Superbad Supermeter," which will keep a running tally of all the vulgar language and lingo throughout the film.

Tech specs include 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video and both uncompressed PCM and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround tracks.

As previously announced, Sony has set an MSRP for the Blu-ray of $43.98.
