Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced it will bring the 1979 comedy classic 'Meatballs' to Blu-ray, in a special edition with brand-new bonus features.
Streeting on June 5 simultaneously with a new DVD re-issue, the Bill Murray sleeper smash will boast a newly-remastered 1.85:1 1080p transfer and uncompressed PCM 5.1 surround track (at 48kHz/16-bit/4.6mbps).
Extras include an audio commentary with director Ivan Reitman and co-writer/producer, plus a three-part making-of documentary featuring fresh interviews with the cast and crew.
Sony has set a $28.95 list price for the release.
We've also added a new listing for 'Meatballs' to our Blu-ray Release Schedule, under June 5. Stay tuned for final specs in the coming days, including box art.
