The newest firmware update caused some problems, but a rollback seems to work.
There's been quite the interesting development with the latest firmware update from Samsung. Certain players – the 2009 line specifically – got an update recently that's stopped playback of films from Warner Bros and Universal Studios films.
The problem, it's suspected, stems from a digital rights management (DRM) issue. It seems to be happening with newer movies like 'Book of Eli' and 'Sherlock Holmes,' but not with some older releases.
The best solution at the moment is to download the older firmware for your player and manually switch over. If you haven't updated yet, it seems waiting would be your best bet.
