Paramount Reveals Specs For 'Hot Rod' HD DVD

Posted Nov 13, 2007 at 06:00 AM PST by Unknown Author

The Andy Samberg racing comedy 'Hot Rod' is set to hit HD DVD firing on all cylinders, including an extensive array of bonus features and Dolby TrueHD audio.

As we've previously reported, Paramount announced a speedy November 27 day-and-date debut for 'Hot Rod' back in early October. Now the studio has released full specs, and they don't seem to be letting the film's tepid box office get in the way of a turbo-charged HD DVD release.

Among the three hours of announced bonus materials are an audio commentary with director Akiva Schaffer and stars Andy Samberg and Jorma Taccone, the "Ancestors Protect Me: Behind the Scenes of 'Hot Rod'" featurette, a collection of "Kevin's Videos" featuring ten behind-the-scenes vignettes recorded by Taccone on the set, a set of deleted scenes with optional commentary, an outtake reel, additional scoring session footage, and the film's theatrical trailer.

Tech specs include 1080p/VC-1 video, along with a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround track (at 48kHz/24-bit), plus optional mixes in English, French and Spanish Dolby Digital-Plus 5.1 Surround

Retail price for the HD DVD will list for a suggested $39.98.

As always, you'll find disc details for 'Hot Rod' linked from our HD DVD Release Schedule, indexed under November 27.
