In the studio's first next-gen title announcement for the new year, Lionsgate says will debut the high-octane action-thriller 'War' on Blu-ray this January.
Starring Jet Li as a rogue assassin and Jason Statham as the FBI assigned to track him down, expect lots of flexing muscles and slow-mo body blows when 'War' drops on Blu-ray and standard-def DVD day-and-date on January 1.
Tech specs for the $32 million-grossing slugfest include 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video, and in what is becoming a much-welcome trend on Lionsgate's Blu-ray releases, an uncompressed PCM track in full-blown 7.1 surround.
Supplement details have not yet been announced, but watch this space and we'll keep you posted.
