Dolby TrueHD Comes to Blu-ray With 'Legends of Jazz'

Posted Oct 12, 2006 at 02:38 AM PDT by Unknown Author

Bringing both classic jazz and Dolby TrueHD to Blu-ray for the first time, indie music distributor LRS Media is set to debut their premiere next-gen disc release with 'Legends of Jazz Showcase.'

Due in stores on October 24, 'Legends of Jazz' brings together jazz icons including Al Jarreau, Chick Corea, Chris Botti and host Ramsey Lewis for 13 classic performances.

LRS will be putting their best foot forward for their maiden release, delivering a 1080p/MPEG-2 video transfer and no less than three soundtrack options, in Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital 5.1 and uncompressed PCM 2.0 stereo.

Extras include extensive still galleries, as well as complete artist biographies.

Retail will be priced at a suggested $34.98 list.

We've added a complete listing for the title to our Blu-ray Release Schedule, and it's certainly nice to see some diversity in music programming being released for the format. We'll be sure to keep you posted on future announcements from LRS Media.
