The Sam Peckinpah western is galloping toward Blu-ray a week later.
As previously reported, Twilight Time was preparing 'Major Dundee' for Blu-ray on April 9, but now the release date is planned for April 15.
Legendary writer-director Sam Peckinpah’s 'Major Dundee' tells the brutal tale of an ill-fated Civil War-era cavalry expedition into Mexico, starring Charlton Heston as an obsessive, ambitious Union officer hot on the heels of a rogue Apache chief and his murderous band. Armstrong, and L.Q. Jones. This two-disc set includes the original theatrical release of the film, plus the 2005 extended version.
The Blu-ray will feature 1080p video, a DTS-HD MA 5.1 soundtrack on the extended cut, and a DTS-HD MA 1.0 soundtrack on the theatrical cut. Supplements will include: Isolated Score Track - Christopher Caliendo; Audio Commentary with Film Historians Nick Redman, Paul Seydor, Garner Simmons, and David Weddle; 2005 Re-Release Trailer; Isolated Score Track - Daniele Amfitheatriof; Silent Extended Outtakes; Trailer Artwork Outtakes; Exhibitor Promo Reel Excerpt; Extended Scene: "Major Dundee and Teresa"; Incomplete Deleted Scene: "Knife Fight"; and Original Theatrical Trailer.
