Surround Records International Collaboration of Performers, in conjunction with Alexander Goldberg Jero and Russian Philharmonic Orchestra, present Tchaikovsky's 5th and 6th symphony: Paphetique. Tchaikovsky was prone to terrible fits of depressive rage in which he would destroy his own work, so first of all, let us be thankful that we have both of these pieces especially the fifth. The piece he wrote immediately after writing it succumbed to the artists temper, and was reportedly ripped up into pieces to prevent it ever from being heard. He was adamant that he had done the right thing and stood by all of his other works... it seems that the 'artistic temperament' was in action even back in 1888... The 5th symphony is composed in cyclical format, with the same musical themes occurring in each cycle thus setting it apart from his previous works. It is less well known than the famous 6th symphony, and, as the artist himself puts it, symbolises a complete resignation into the arms of fate possibly sparking rumours of his own suicide long before it actually took place. The better known 6th symphony entitled 'Paphetique' was not written until 1893 and was first performed 9 days before his death. There is a lot of critical talk around the depressive notes of the song, and there are theories about its connection to his eventual suicide. The song was performed only once with the composer himself leading the orchestra. It was not performed again until many days after his death, when a fellow composer performed it based on the few short corrective notes Tchaikovsky himself had added after his initial performance. Even although the first rendition was well received by the public Tchaikovsky is renowned as having belittled himself for it. The great composer felt the symphony was not good enough simply because his orchestra had not seemed overly enthused about playing his work. Interestingly enough the symphony was mis-named due to a translation error. The original Russian word used in its title was translated as 'solemn' instead of 'emotive' and hence we have the title of Paphetique or the lesser used 'Pathetique', from the French. This mistake was never truly rectified, and music lovers everywhere deny that the seemingly sombre tune was written to give forewarning of the composers suicide. We will leave it to you to decide whether the renaming was simply mis-translated coincidence or something much more nefarious indeed..? Now you can listen to Tchaikovsky's 5th and 6th symphonies in the new High Definition Music Card format. This new format lets you listen with crystal clarity to a unique edition of Tchaikovsky's wonderful symphony. This version includes the 3D music layering technique employed by Mr Jero, and is sure to change your preferred music format forever! Experience Tchaikovsky as you never have through sound clear and intense enough to transport you to one of his concerts and all within the highest quality recorded format. Paphetique will leave you wanting more... and that can always be arranged.
