Video Review
Angel debuts on Blu-ray with an excellent 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 encode with several moments showing outstanding definition and clarity of the background information. Fine lines and objects are generally sharp and highly-detailed while the stitching and threading in clothing are distinct with notable texturing in the various fabrics, and we can plainly make out the pores, wrinkles and negligible blemishes in the faces of the cast.
The freshly-minted transfer also arrives with strong contrast and brightness balance, showering the 2.39:1 image with crisp, clean whites and generally true, accurate blacks without sacrificing the finer aspects in the darkest shadows. However, highlights are not always consistent — ever so slightly blooming in the hottest spots — while some poorly-lit interiors can mildly lose a bit of their luster. Then again, this is likely related to the creative orange-teal cinematography of Jules O'Loughlin, which also tends to favor warmer earthy tones and yellow-oranges for most of the movie. Nevertheless, primaries remain accurately rendered with steely blues and vivid reds standing out in some areas. (Video Rating: 84/100)
Audio Review
Angel Has Fallen debuts on Blu-ray with the same awesomely fun Dolby Atmos soundtrack as its Ultra HD counterpart. For a more in-depth take on the audio quality, you can read our review of the 4K Ultra HD HERE. (Dolby Atmos Audio Rating: 92/100)

Gerard Butler and Morgan Freeman return as Secret Service agent Mike Banning and President Trumbull in Angel Has Fallen, the third entry in an action series that has remained entertainingly consistent and the same. Only, this second sequel feels more like a genuine continuation that expands on the central hero's mythos, equipped with a familiar political thriller plot that, at least, delivers some good mindless fun. The third installment debuts on Blu-ray with an excellent video presentation and an awesomely satisfying Dolby Atmos soundtrack. With a decent set of supplements, the overall package is recommended.
