Plot Synopsis:
Real life and reel life happily intersected for vivacious Betty Grable, she of the vaunted, iconically photographed “million dollar legs,” seen to great effect in the custom-tailored Technicolor® musical vehicle Pin Up Girl (1944). A loosely assembled but consistently bubbly diversion about a yarn-spinning USO hostess playing a dizzying game of dual identities with potential soldier beaus while passing through New York, it also gives ample room to comedy favorites Martha Raye, Joe E. Brown and Eugene Pallette. Toss in superb Condos Brothers tap dancing, the swing stylings of Charlie Spivak and His Orchestra and the rolling revelries of the Skating Vanities and you’ll gladly put a pin in this World War II-era delight.
