Plot Synopsis:
J.M. Barrie’s evergreen tale of an impeccably correct English butler (Kenneth More) suddenly forced to take charge when he and his helpless aristo employers are stranded on a desert island, The Admirable Crichton (1957) is amusingly directed by Lewis Gilbert (later of Bond film fame) and gorgeously photographed in Technicolor by Wilkie Cooper. More is joined by Cecil Parker as the stuffy Lord Loam, Sally Ann Howes as his snooty daughter, and Diane Cilento as the adorably warm-hearted maid, Tweeny.
