Murder After Dark

In the small New England town of Deep Woods, Margaret Ray is murdered. It is now up to young Detective William Stockwell (Mike M. Burke) to find out who killed her and why in this dark comedy murder mystery. There are plenty of suspects who all had a motive to kill her and each one as a weak alibis making it more difficult to figure out who did it. Stockwell also discovers that the very town he grew up in is not what it seems to be with a dark history. Meanwhile he tries to balance his passion for his job and his growing love for his girlfriend Marissa (Candice Manacchio) who is not so happy that he puts his job first. Along the way he gets help from Sheriff Bob Shirley (Karl Peterson), who has a close friendship with the main suspect, and rookie Officer Nicholson (Patricia Poindexter). Murder After Dark is a low-budget independent film with comedy, mystery, and a splash of horror. Each character is intriguing yet bazaar in a movie with a dark setting. In a world where most stories are predictable, this one will have you guessing all the way to end, that is until the big shocking twist that you will never see coming.
