Plot Synopsis:

Joel (James Bond III) grew up in the church but has started questioning his beliefs. After sensing a supernatural presence from his deceased father, Joel becomes compelled to visit his cousin, K (Kadeem Hardison) in New York. But shortly after arriving, he and K become embroiled in a series of mysterious homicides of local men, all of whom were last seen in the company of a mysterious and beautiful woman, who has now set her bloodthirsty sights on K...

The sole directorial effort from child actor James Bond III, who also wrote, produced, and starred, DEF BY TEMPTATION is a macabre, neon tinged portrait of late 80s Brooklyn, blending supernatural horror and religious mysticism, punctuated by an electrifying hip hop and R&B soundtrack. Featuring an early performance from Samuel L. Jackson alongside character actor Bill Nunn (DO THE RIGHT THING) and exquisite visuals from one of the late 20th century's most gifted cinematographers, Ernest Dickerson (JUICE), Vinegar Syndrome brings DEF BY TEMPTATION to Blu-ray, newly restored from its original 35mm camera negative.
