Genres: Drama
Starring: Sam Eliott, Perry King
Plot Synopsis: Filmed on location in the winter playground of the rich and famous, Aspen, Colorado, this sprawling 3 part miniseries details the trial of Lee Bishop, an Aspen man who was arrested, tried and sentenced to die for the rape and murder of a 15-year-old girl--a crime for which Bishop is not guilty. As the years pass and Bishop sits on death row, his attorney and friend, Tom Keating, does everything in his power to clear Bishop's name and find the true killer. Perry King (Rip Tide, Melrose Place) plays Bishop, and the great Sam Elliot (Molly and Lawless John, Once an Eagle) his lawyer in their epic struggle to free the wrongly accused man. Elliott and King are joined by a truly amazing cast, including Michelle Phillips, Gene Barry, Bo Hopkins, Anthony Franciosa, Roger Davis, Joseph Cotten, Jessica Harper, John Houseman and many more... The beautiful scenery and spectacular cast add up to a very slick and smart mini-series, in large part due to the work of the executive producer Roy Huggins, (The Virginian, Maverick, The Fugitive, The Rockford Files, 77 Sunset Strip). His best work was always absorbing, puzzling and satisfying and Aspen is no exception.
