The Amazing Race” All-Star Edition features eleven two-person teams competing for $1 million dollars. The 24th season of this Emmy-award winning series has members returning from previous amazing expeditions.
Trekking 23,000 miles across three continents, nine countries and 22 cities, the teams are challenged to perform various feats that test agility, strength and courage. In China, they brave somersaults while suspended 300 feet in the air off a tower; in Rome they battle a seasoned gladiator; in the Swiss alps, teams deliver milk by means of a Bernese Mountain Dog; and in London, face off for penalty kicks against a professional goalkeeper. In addition, while racing through Las Vegas during the final leg of the race, the remaining teams must master the art of magic, as challenged by illusionist David Copperfield.
Each team, including a father and son, mother and son, Harlem Globetrotters and a pair of YouTube hosts, were selected to return to “The Amazing Race” for a second -- and some cases third time. The 24th installment of the reality series aired in Spring 2014. “The Amazing Race” has earned ten Outstanding Reality-Competition Primetime Emmys*.
