Reality star Mimi Wyatt (Brooke Burfitt) passes out in the back of a cab after a night club appearance. She wakes up in a cold, dark basement, having been kidnapped. Frank Watson (Thomas Gipson) needs ransom money to cover his terminally ill daughter's cancer treatment. She agrees to sell her story to the magazine prepared to transfer the full sum on her release, all organized via her agent Phil (Jonathan Cheban). A relationship develops with Frank, but one night he throws her out before the magazine deal can go through, seemingly jeopardizing the fate of his young daughter. Mimi goes straight to the cops and Detectives (Larese King & Michelle Money) must work out what is real and what is fiction when the celebrity accuses her captor of sexual assault.
