COMMON LAW centers on two LAPD detectives in the Robbery-Homicide Division. Travis Marks (Michael Ealy) and Wes Mitchell (Warren Kole) team up to put the bad guys behind bars. Trouble starts when they get to know each other and discover they have nothing in common but one thing, enforcing the law. They are both incredible at their jobs but their personalities clash, and the constant bickering starts to affect their ability to work together.
Following their captain’s (Jack McGee) orders, they go to couple’s therapy to work out their differences. Dr. Ryan (Sonya Walger), their therapist, evaluates their relationship and tries to help them figure out what is causing them to continually fight and how to resolve their issues with each other. We soon discover what differentiates these two partners is actually balancing them out and what makes them tick brings a stronger bond to their partnership.
