Troubled TV personality Steven Evans struggles to find meaning in his life in the superficial world he has created. Suffocated by materialism, Steven's only relief is through solitary visits to the ocean and shallow sexual encounters with acquaintances. When his long-term partner throws him headfirst into fatherhood, Steven's initial reluctance is replaced with love. But the return of an unexpected visitor sets off a series of events that hurls Steven and his family into a cycle of loneliness, self-destruction and grief.
