In the Bolivian highlands, elderly and infirm Quechua llama herders Virginio (José Calcina) and Sisa (Luisa Quispe) live the humble existence they always had-or tried to, as long-standing drought has driven all but a stubborn few from their village. Despite the entreaties of their grandson (Santos Choque) to join him in the city, the couple fatefully cling to the only life they know, in this visually spectacular opus with a largely nonprofessional cast. 87 min.
