'Flashdance' Blu-ray Supplements Detailed

Check out the bonus features for the 1983 dance flick getting the high-definition treatment in August.

As previously reported, Warner Brothers will be releasing 'Flashdance' on Blu-ray on August 13.

A hit movie that became a sensation, 'Flashdance' delivers an electrifying mix of music, drama and dance that dazzles the senses as it touches the heart. Jennifer Beals stars as Alex Owens, a fiercely determined 18-year-old with one all-consuming dream: to study at the Pittsburgh Conservatory of Dance. Working during the day as a welder and at night as an exotic dancer, Alex bravely pursues her dream, undertaking an unforgettable journey that reveals the power of her convictions and teaches her the meaning of love.

Specs have yet to be revealed, but supplements include: The History of Flashdance; The Look of Flashdance; Flashdance Music and Songs; Flashdance Choreography; Releasing the Flashdance Phenomenon; Teaser and Theatrical Trailers; and an Exclusive 6-Track Music CD: Includes "Flashdance - What A Feeling".

Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $19.98.

'Marathon Man' Dated for Blu-ray

John Schlesinger's 1976 classic will find a home on Blu-ray in September.

In an early announcement to retailers, Warner Brothers will be releasing 'Marathon Man' on Blu-ray on September 10.

Doc Levy (Roy Scheider) is an American secret agent who has been running interference between the US government and escaped Nazi war criminal Szell (Laurence Olivier). Believing that Doc has stolen a valuable cache of gems, Szell emerges from his South American hi ding place and heads for New York. He has Doc killed, then kidnaps Doc's in-the-dark brother Babe (Dustin Hoffman). Repeating the ph rase "Is it safe?" over and over, Szell, a onetime concentration camp dentist, tries to extract information from Babe. 'Marathon Man' traces Babe Levy's progression from pacifistic naif to cynical street-smart scrapper.

Specs and supplements haven't been revealed yet, but the suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $19.98.

Anthony Minghella's 1999 thriller will be released on Blu-ray in September.

In an early announcement to retailers, Warner Brothers is preparing 'The Talented Mr. Ripley' for Blu-ray on September 10.

Tom Ripley (Matt Damon) is a bright and charismatic sociopath who makes his way in mid-50s New York City as a men's room attendant and sometimes pianist, though his real skill is in impersonating other people, forging handwriting, and running second-rate scams. After being mistaken for a Princeton student, Tom meets the shipping tycoon father of Dickie Greenleaf (Jude Law), who has traveled to the coast of Italy, where he's living a carefree life with his father's money and his beautiful girlfriend, Marge (Gwyneth Paltrow). Dickie's father offers to pay Ripley $1,000 plus expenses if he can persuade Dickie to return to America. As Ripley and Dickie become friends, Tom finds himself both attracted to Dickie and envious of his life of pleasure. In time, he decides that he would rather be Dickie Greenleaf than Tom Ripley.

'Shane' Blu-ray Delayed

The celebrated western won't be riding to Blu-ray now until August.

As previously reported, Warner Brothers was preparing 'Shane' for Blu-ray on June 4, but now the date has been changed to August 13 in order to complete remastering in the original 1:37 aspect ratio.

Acclaimed director George Stevens' legendary rendition of the quintessential Western myth earned six Academy Award nominations, and made Shane one of the classics of the American cinema. The story brings Alan Ladd, a drifter and retired gunfighter, to the assistance of a homestead family terrorized by a wealthy cattleman and his hired gun (Jack Palance). In fighting the last decisive battle, Shane sees the end of his own way of life. Mysterious, moody and atmospheric, the film is enhanced by the intense performances of its splendid cast.

Specs and supplements have yet to be revealed, but the suggested list price has been set at $19.98.

'The Wizard of Oz: 75th Anniversary Edition' Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D Up for Pre-Order!

The classic 1939 musical starring Judy Garland will be getting a double dip in 2013.

In an early announcement to retailers, 'The Wizard of Oz: 75th Anniversary Edition' appears to be coming to Blu-ray in the near future, along with 'The Wizard of Oz - 3D: 75th Anniversary Edition' and 'The Wizard of Oz - 3D: 75th Anniversary Collector's Edition (Amazon Exclusive).'

Specs have yet to be revealed, but the releases are expected to include hours of extra content including: Sing-a-long feature with the film; Complete Magic Cloak of Oz silent shorts (60 min); All-new making-of Documentary; The Dreamer of Oz TV Special (101 min); Munchkins at the Hollywood Walk of Fame Featurette (20 min); Patchwork Girl of Oz (60 min); and a 6 hr. MGM Documentary When the Lion Roars (exclusive to Blu-Ray).

The Blu-ray 3D Collector's Edition will also include a 48 pg Hardcover Photo Book; Ruby Slippers Sparkle Globe; Collectible Award Pin Set by The Noble Collection; Journal; Frameable Map of Oz; and 4 GB "Wicked Witch of the East" flash drive (Amazon exclusive).

Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is set at $19.98, the Blu-ray 3D is $35.99, and the Amazon Exclusive Blu-ray 3D Collector's Edition is $105.43.

'The Fugitive: 20th Anniversary Edition' Blu-ray Dated

A 20th Anniversary double dip of Andrew Davis' crime thriller is planned for Blu-ray in September.

In an early announcement to retailers, Warner Brothers is preparing 'The Fugitive: 20th Anniversary Edition' starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones for Blu-ray on September 3.

Unjustly accused and found guilty of murdering his wife (Sela Ward), former Chicago surgeon Dr. Richard Kimble (Ford) escapes from custody and races to uncover the identity of the real killer and the reasons for his wife's death, all while being the target of a nationwide manhunt led by tenacious United States Deputy Marshal Sam Gerard (Jones). Based on the classic 1960s television series of the same name, The Fugitive garnered seven Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, and earned Tommy Lee Jones a Best Supporting Actor Oscar and Golden Globe. In 2001, The American Film Institute also listed it as one of the "100 Most Thrilling" American films.

It's currently unclear if this release will be sporting a new transfer, however supplements will include: Introduction by Andrew Davis and Harrison Ford; Commentary by Andrew Davis and Tommy Lee Jones; On the Run with the Fugitive Behind-the-Scenes Featurette; Derailed: Anatomy of a Train Wreck Behind-the-Scenes Featurette; and Theatrical Trailer.

New items will include The Fugitive: Thrill of the Chase featuring Andrew Davis, Harrison Ford, Tommy Lee Jones and more; and “The Fugitive"([2000 WB Pilot).

Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $19.98.

The crazy cat and mouse will be climbing up a beanstalk in August.

In an early announcement to retailers, Warner Brothers says 'Tom and Jerry's Giant Adventure' will hit Blu-ray on August 6.

This Tom and Jerry original movie finds the classic Hanna-Barbera duo assisting Jack, the young owner of a storybook amusement park, which has fallen on hard times. All that changes, though, when a handful of magic beans provide the means for Jack, Tom and Jerry to get their hands on a golden goose. But what dangers (and hijinks) await atop the beanstalk the beans produce?

Specs and supplements for the Blu-ray/DVD/Ultraviolet Digital Copy Combo Pack haven't been revealed yet, but suggested list price is $24.98.

The comedic battle of magicians will commence on Blu-ray this June.

In an early announcement to retailers, Warner Brothers says 'The Incredible Burt Wonderstone' is coming to high-definition on June 25.

Starring Steve Carell and Steve Buscemi as long-reigning Las Vegas headliners, “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone” follows the struggling magicians as they attempt to overcome a fading friendship and battle Steve Gray, a rival guerilla street magician played by Jim Carrey, for illusionist fame.

Directed by Emmy® Award-winner Don Scardino (“30 Rock”), “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone” also stars Olivia Wilde as Burt and Anton’s glamorous magic assistant Jane; Alan Arkin as old-school illusionist Rance Holloway; and James Gandolfini as casino mogul Doub Munny.

The release will be a Blu-ray/DVD/UV Digital Copy combo pack with 1080p video, a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, and supplements will include: Deleted Scene & Alternate Takes; Making Movie Magic with David Copperfield; Best of The Brain Rapist; and Gag Reel.

Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $35.99.

Bryan Singer's epic fantasy hitting both Blu-ray formats in June has now been fully detailed.

As previously reported, Warner Brothers is preparing 'Jack the Giant Slayer' Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack and 'Jack the Giant Slayer - 3D' Blu-ray 3D/Blu-ray/DVD combo pack for release on June 18.

'Jack the Giant Slayer' tells the story of an ancient war that's reignited when a young farmhand (Hoult) unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack, into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess (Tomlinson), he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend, and gets the chance to become a legend himself.

The releases will feature 1080p video, lossless soundtracks, and supplements will include deleted scenes, a gag reel, and a Blu-ray exclusive Become A Giant Slayer Interactive Experience.

Suggested list price for the Blu-ray combo is $35.99 and the Blu-ray 3D combo is $44.95.
