How was your first week of April? We had a busy one over at The Bonus View! In case you missed anything, we have it all encapsulated here in one easily digestible recap of The Bonus View. This week we covered everything from new theatrical releases, to the premieres of new television seasons. So sit back, relax, and let us guide you through the high-def extravaganza of the week that was.

TV Madness

The battles rage on as iconic television characters go head-to-head in a giant battle-to-the-death tournament. On Monday we had a very close call between Eric Northman of 'True Blood' and John Locke from 'Lost.' In the end Locke ended up pulling it out, but just barely. In the other matchup the universe's most famous Klingon, Worf, pummeled Al Capone into submission.

On Wednesday, Michael Knight from 'Knight Rider' was pitted against the world's scariest drug dealer, Omar Little from 'The Wire.' Needless to say, Little demolished him. In the other Wednesday matchup we have a very close race which is too close to call at the moment. Angel and Sarah Walker from 'Chuck' are only separated by one vote right now. So make sure to go cast your vote there because every vote counts.

Blu-ray News

If you're into collectible steelbook packaging then Tom has a few posts that you might want to read. First, check out the new Future Shop steelbook for 'Underworld: Awakening' and then head on over to see if Play.com's new 'Alien Anthology' steelbook strikes your fancy.

If you're just looking for suggestions on what to buy this week then Josh has every Blu-ray release hitting store shelves in his weekly Blu-ray Highlights post.

Theatrical News

Luke already saw this week's new movies so you can know what you should see this weekend. Find out if the new 'American Pie' movie 'American Reunion' is worth your time and box office dollars. Also, find out what Luke thought of Morgan Spurlock's new geek-centric documentary 'Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan’s Hope.'

Wondering about upcoming releases? We're getting close to the summer movie season and E has a few trailers in this week's Trailer Park that you might want to take a look at. The new trailer for the remake of 'Total Recall' has finally been released. If you need your sci-fi with a bit of odd-ball humor then maybe you should check out 'Iron Sky.' Nazis attacking from the dark side of the moon, what could be better, right?

Also, we all know that you've been dying to see who won big at the Razzies. In case you didn't hear the outcomes, Josh has a complete rundown of the event which honors the worst that Hollywood has to offer.

TV Recaps

This week we covered a couple of TV's big season premieres. Check out Aaron's thoughts on 'The Killing's season two premiere, along with what Josh thought of 'Game of Thrones' season premiere. We also have recaps of 'Fringe,' and 'Awake' if you're looking to find out about what's on TV.

Special Features

In last Friday's Weekend Roundtable we discussed our favorite dystopian films. What are yours? Please let us know.

In the Mid-Week Poll we wanted to find out where you buy most of your Blu-rays. Is it online or at a physical store?

Well, that's it for this week. As always we thank you, dear readers, because without you none of this would be possible. Have a great weekend and we'll see you back here on The Bonus View bright and early Monday morning to continue talking about anything and everything related to high definition entertainment.

This week went by so fast I almost forgot completely about writing The Bonus View Digest. Luckily, in my early morning stupor I somehow remembered that today is Friday and our readers are probably waiting close to their computers for the Digest to pop up. So, I downed some caffeine and got to work. Let's see what happened this week.

Blu-ray News

The big news on the blog right now is that today is the last day to enter the contest to win a free Blu-ray copy of 'Puss in Boots.' If you haven't entered yet, please do so. It's a free Blu-ray. How could you go wrong?

TV Madness

With March Madness gearing up we started up our own tournament, filled to the brim with badass TV characters ready to do battle with whoever stands in their way.

We started things off with a look at the bracket and a few tournament statistics that we thought were cool going into the contest.

This week we had a Clark Kent Playoff to see which Clark could find his way into the tournament. It was fun. Which one would you have voted for? It may surprise you to see who won.

Also check out the newest matchup that has been posted which will be available for voting until Monday. Hulk Hogan's Hurricane Spencer goes up against 'Covert Affairs' spy Annie Walker. In the other matchup serial killer Dexter Morgan battles martial arts master Caine to see who advances to the next round. Make sure to vote.

Theatrical News

This week Luke saw and reviewed Disney's new sci-fi epic 'John Carter' and also took the time to see the lesser known romantic comedy 'Friends with Kids.'

In The Trailer Park E reiterated how much of a sucker he is for movies starring Mila Jovovich, which is why he's excited for another new 'Resident Evil' film.

In Aaron's Posterizing post this week he covered a number of new movie posters including 'The Raid' and 'Brave.' Make sure to read all the way through, however, to find out if Aaron was able to redeem himself from last week's bitter disappointment when he tried to buy a 'Lonesome Ghosts' from Mondo.

TV Recaps

As always we have a bunch of recaps waiting for you along with our thoughts on a couple series premieres. The premieres this week included the new ABC comedy 'GCB' and NBC's new drama starring Jason Issacs called 'Awake.' See what Josh had to say about them.

Also, this week we have a new recap for 'The Walking Dead,' along with two recaps for 'Alcatraz.'

Special Features

In this week's Mid-Week Poll we asked you if you lend out your movies to others, or do you ferociously guard them from the outside world? In the Weekend Roundtable last Friday we discussed the topic of hosting the Oscars, and if you had the final say in the matter who would you pick?

February has come and gone. Although, we ended February with a bang! Thank you to all of those who joined us for the Oscars Live-Blog, it truly was fun to discuss the show with all of you. The contest went smoothly too, as ten readers found themselves new owners of free Blu-rays.

This week we start a new March Madness-themed tournament like we did last year. Remember the Movie Madness Tournament? Well, we're starting a March TV Madness Tournament where we've come up with a field of 64 combatants from television who will do battle with each other to see who the biggest badass of television is. Make sure to join us as we jump head first into the tournament starting next week!

TV Madness Tournament

We've started the tournament with a column asking for suggestions on who you think should be added to the tournament. Please, visit the article and jot down a few television character names and we'll see if we can fit them in.

The Oscars

If you didn't get to catch the Live-Blog last Sunday, then you can always read through the replay. It was great fun. Whenever we get together with our fellow readers in a real-time atmosphere there's never a dull moment. Thanks again!

Aaron and Josh both made their opinions known about the Oscars telecast. Josh's 2012 Oscars Post Mortem column talked about his dislike for quite possibly the whole show from Billy Crystal hosting to the way the whole thing was put together. In Aaron's The Good, The Bad and The Horrid of Oscars 2012 he tries to find a few good things to sprinkle among the otherwise dour experience.

Theatrical News

In The Trailer Park this week E covers a trio of films that show just how badass America really is. Here's where you can check out the new trailer for 'Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter.'

Aaron covered new movie posters this week in another edition of Posterizing. He had some bad news though when he didn't end up getting a Mondo poster he desperately wanted.

Luke covers the new theater releases this week with reviews of 'Project X' and 'The Lorax.'

Home Theater News

This week in our Mid-Week Poll we asked you a very important question that seems to come up quite a lot when people are discussing upgrades to their home theater. What is more important quality video or quality audio? Please come join in on the discussion.

Josh unboxed one of his older DVDs, this time it's a Canadian import of 'Amelie.'

TV Recaps

Check out our recaps of 'The Walking Dead,' 'Fringe,' and 'Alcatraz' from this week. Let us know how you think these shows are going and what they can improve upon.

Special Features

Last week's Weekend Roundtable dealt with an Oscar related subject. What is your most hated or love Oscar nominated song? We want to know!

That's it for this week. Remember to stay tuned for the March TV Madness Tournament. We had tons of fun last year with the March Movie Madness Tournament and we're determined to have at least twice as much fun this time around.

Thanks, everyone, for joining the conversation and making The Bonus View such a fun place to visit.

It's already February, where has the time gone? One thing is for sure though, The Bonus View hasn't slowed down in its coverage of everything HD. Whether it be in the theaters or on the small screen we've got you covered.

This week we continued to roll out more Sundance Film Festival coverage. We also covered a few mid-season series premieres so people know what's happening on TV. Check out everything this week had to offer.

Blu-ray News

You'll want to take a look at our Blu-ray Highlights post this week. Josh outlines a few stellar picks, such as 'Lady and the Tramp'. It isn't all good though, that one vampire vs. werewolf movie came out too and I'm not referring to the franchise with a leather-clad Kate Beckinsale.

With his Full Metal Jackets post of the week, Tom Landy discusses the Future Shop steelbook for 'The Immortals' for all you collectors out there.

Theatrical News

Wonder what you should see this weekend at the movies? Well, Luke Hickman has seen just about everything being released and he's got a rundown of the movies you should see and the ones you should skip completely. See what Luke thinks about the releases of 'Journey 2,' 'The Vow,' and 'Safe House.'

We still have some Sundance coverage that we're putting up so this week you'll be able to find reviews on Josh Radnor's 'Liberal Arts,' the fantastic little time travel movie 'Safety Not Guaranteed,' the funny gross-out R rated girl comedy 'For a Good Time, Call...' and a story about a kid, a couple goats and David Duchovny with a wily beard in 'Goats.'

E, covered the trailer front, looking at a couple trailers for two new horror movies that are coming out. Check out what he thought about the previews for 'ATM' and 'Silent House' in this week's Trailer Park.

Finally, as awards time fast approaches Luke takes a look at the SAG Awards winners and wonders if they'll predict the upcoming Oscar winners.

TV Recaps

This week saw the beginning of a couple new series, which we made sure we covered for you. Aaron took on the series premiere of 'The River' which he surprisingly enjoyed, while Josh checked out NBC's new musical drama 'Smash.'

Other shows that we covered with recaps this week include: 'Grimm,' 'Fringe,' and 'Alcatraz.' Don't forget, 'The Walking Dead' starts back up this Sunday and we'll pick up right where we left off with that show. So remember to join in on the discussion. When this 'Walking Dead' season started we had quite a few lively discussions about the episodes, so it should be fun.

Special Features

This week's Weekend Roundtable we discussed our favorite acting performances of 2011. What were yours? Make sure to let us know. Leading up to the Oscars our Mid-week Poll asked who you think will win in the major acting categories and also who you think should win. Make sure to vote if you haven't already.

Thanks for joining us here at The Bonus View for another week of movies, TV and fun. Please continue to comment. We love hearing what you have to say.

E took time to highlight some of the industry's new trailers in this week's Trailer Park . Check out trailers for 'The Raven' and the greatly anticipated Marvel movie 'The Avengers.'

Finally, Aaron takes a good hard look at the state of today's action movies and how their general feel and filming style has drastically changed. Check out the article, and let us know how you feel about the new movement of Chaos Cinema.

This week, like every week, The Bonus View has been the place to be for HD fans. If you're interested in the new 'Star Wars' Blu-rays hitting stores this month you'll want to take a look at the blog to find out what changes you will be in store for. It shouldn't be news to anyone that George Lucas is tweaking more aspects of his beloved movies for the Blu-ray release.

It wasn't all 'Star Wars' news on the blog this week, it just seems that way as the September 16th release date approaches. Take a look at all the other stuff you may have missed that you'll want to read over and discuss with your fellow Bonus View fans!

Blu-ray News

The biggest news this week was the videos that surfaced that showed the myriad of changes George Lucas has made to the 'Star Wars' films for the Blu-ray release. Josh covers them all, including the creepy blinking Ewoks , and he isn't kind about how he feels.

Our Mid-Week Poll this week also had to do with the 'Star Wars' Blu-ray release. We asked if you were going to buy the set or if you were going to hold your ground and wait until the original versions were released. Get in on this always controversial discussion now!

Aaron revisited another one of his favorite movies from his collection in Off the Shelf . Take a look back at 'Dr. Horrible' and find 21 things that you may have missed.

We also ran a contest where readers had a chance to win a Limited Edition Steelbook edition of 'Scarface.'

Theatrical News

E's Trailer Park highlighted quite a few movies made especially for kids, including 'Happy Feet 2' and 'The Pirates! Band of Misfits.'

Luke watched and reviewed 'The Debt ' starring Helen Mirren, and gave us an update of what we could expect to see in the theaters over the weekend . Don't get your hopes up because hardly any of them were actually screened for critics (never a good thing).

Finally, Aaron covered some of the new movie posters, in his column Posterizing, that have been released for upcoming theatrical features including 'Drive,' 'Ghost Rider: The Spirit of Vengeance,' and 'Carnage.'

Home Theater News

Who hasn't thought that their sound system needed more rumbling bass? Everyone has thought it at some point, and Josh has a perfect solution. Instead of buying more expensive sub woofers, how about adding a relatively inexpensive seat shaker that will have the same effect? Check out this how-to, and add this to your home theater today.

TV Recaps

We've been steadfast in our coverage of the latest and greatest summer TV shows. Get recaps for 'Burn Notice ,' 'Project Runway ,' 'Haven ,' 'Alphas ,' and 'True Blood .'

Special Features

Our Weekend Roundtable covered the best TV pilot episodes of all-time. Although ours was only a short list. Take a look at the 50+ comments from readers who shared their own favorites!

Finally, in a special article, Josh discussed whether or not 'The Empire Strikes Back' is too good for the original 'Star Wars Trilogy.' What do you think? Let us know.

Please join us over on The Bonus View where we're striving to grow a community of people who love high definition entertainment. Plus, you can win free stuff,so, there's no reason you shouldn't check it out!

This was one of the most eventful weeks we've had on The Bonus View. We had numerous stories that featured double-digit comments from our wonderful movie loving community we have here. See what kind of camaraderie you're missing out on when you don't tune into The Bonus View?

Movie Madness

The Tournament O' Death has finally wound down, and we crowned a winner. Darth Vader took home the championship, but not before we had quite a few hotly contested matchups. To see how we go to the final match that saw a victorious Vader crushing the life out of a helpless Batman, check out the links below.

Movie Madness 2011: A Look Back

Fans of the Movie Madness tournament, don't fret. We've got some great things in the works, like a Tournament O' Death for some of our favorite TV characters. Keep updated on The Bonus View to find out when it's going to happen.

TV Recaps

As always The Bonus View tracks and blogs about your favorite shows. For many shows we do weekly recaps just in case you missed anything. It's a time to discuss the show with fellow fans and talk about where it's going. This week we had recaps for shows like 'Franklin & Bash', 'The Killing', 'Game of Thrones', and a special interview from the creator of 'Community'.

As the summer TV season heats up you better believe we'll be covering some of the hottest shows. You'll have to keep a lookout to see which shows we'll be covering.

Video Game News

Not only did our intrepid video game reporter, Dick Ward, keep up updated on the video game releases this week; he also brought it to our attention that we could get up to two free games from Sony Playstation Network. This was good news for a guy like me who rarely buys video games but loves to play them. Right after reading Dick's report I went onto PSN and downloaded Little Big Planet for free!

Theatrical News

This was a big week at the theater. Luke Hickman gave us some great Weekend Box Office Updates. He also provided us with an early review of 'Super 8', which seems to be the movie to see this summer. He also wrote a nice review for Woody Allen's new flick 'Midnight in Paris'.

Last, but definitely not least, Luke wrote up a controversial piece on theatrical 3D and if it was facing a downward slide in box office numbers. It sparked a great debate between the readers that's still raging on right now. Check it out and add your two cents.

Home Theater News

Our resident HD expert Josh Zyber is always tweaking his home theater setup. This week he gave us a glimpse of the new Vizio 3D TV he purchased to compliment his 3D projector he just installed a few weeks ago. He also gave us a heads up on a setback he had with his 3D setup, which is something all people who were wondering about installing a 3D home theater should read.

Special Features

This week we seemed to be brimming with all kinds of featured posts that garnered quite a lot of response from readers. Last week's Roundtable asked the writers which franchises were in need of a reboot. The Mid-Week Poll was a doozy, as we decided once and for all (kind of) who is the worst director out of Michael Bay and Stephen Sommers.

Posterizing is a new featured post we're doing where we take a look at recent movie posters, discuss them, and mainly just enjoy the artwork that goes along with movie marketing.

Finally we had a fun little post about the Alamo Drafthouse Theater and their policy on kicking texters out of movies. You just have to see the video that goes along with the post. It's hilarious.

Thanks again for another successful week on The Bonus View. If you haven't made your way over yet make sure you do. It's a place where you can casually chat with other movie fans, all the while reading great posts from our crack team of writers. Hope to see you here soon!
