Tags: Disc Announcements, TV on High-Def (all tags)

Indie Timeless Media Group has announced its first wave of Blu-ray titles, bringing three top TV titles to high-def in late August.

The first three titles on Timeless Media's schedule are all made-for-television productions, among them the extended version of the 1996 Peter Benchley undersea thriller 'The Beast,' the four-part Discovery Channel anthology 'A Haunting: Twilight of Evil,' and a 40th anniversary edition of the classic 1959 CBS News special 'Man on the Moon,' narrated by Walter Cronkite.

All three will receive a concurrent release of August 25.

The only tech specs we have received are BD-50 dual-layer presentations for both 'Beast' and 'Haunting' (due to their 200-minute runtimes), and a BD-25 single-layer for 'Man on the Moon.' All will be in 1080 video, with no word on audio specs.

There are no announced extras.

Suggested retail price for 'Beast' and 'Haunting' are $24.98, and $19.98 for 'Man on the Moon.'

First Look Entertainment is bringing the Lindsay Lohan maternal farce 'Labor Pains' to Blu-ray in early August.

Expected to be the big-screen comeback for the trouble tabloid target, this indie comedy, about a girl who fakes her own pregnancy to keep a job, instead went straight to ABC Family, which aired the critically-panned film to low ratings last February.

First Look will bring the film direct-to-Blu-ray on August 4, day-and-date with the standard DVD.

No word on tech and supplement specs as of yet, but we'll update this space when final details are confirmed.

Amazon Pre-Orders Up for 'Lie to Me,' 'Always Sunny in Philadelphia'

Tags: TV on High-Def, Amazon, Fox (all tags)

There are no official dates yet, but Amazon.com has just listed pre-orders for the hit TV series 'Lie to Me' and 'Always Sunny in Philadelphia' for Blu-ray.

Though Fox has yet to announce either title, Blu-ray listings have just appeared for 'Lie to Me: Season One,' and 'Always Sunny in Philadelphia: Season Four.' While not a guarantee of a future Blu-ray release (and therefore should be taken with a grain of salt), Amazon pre-order listings are always a strong indicator that a studio is close to officially announcing a title.

There’s still no word on a release date, technical specs, or supplements at this time for either release, but Amazon indicates a $59.99 suggested list price for 'Lie to Me,' and an MSRP of $49.99 for 'Always Sunny in Philadelphia.'
