'Cameraman: The Life & Work of Jack Cardiff' Announced for Blu-ray

The acclaimed film featuring the renowned cinematographer is coming to Blu-ray in August.
In an early announcement to retailers, Strand Releasing will release the documentary 'Cameraman: The Life & Work of Jack Cardiff' on Blu-ray on August 9.
A star-studded documentary about one of the greatest Oscar®-winning cinematographers to capture the beauty of such stars as Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Sophia Loren in such memorable classics as 'The African Queen,' 'The Red Shoes,' 'Barefoot Contessa' and 'Black Narcissus.' With a career spanning more than 80 years, this passionate documentary reveals the craft of one of cinema's most indelible image-makers, Jack Cardiff.
Specs have yet to be revealed, but supplements will include Interview with Craig McCall by Ian Christie, Jack's Actress Portraits, Jack's Behind-the-Scenes Movies, Cinematographer and Director Relationship, Working with Three-Strip Technicolor, Photo Galleries, Original Theatrical Trailer, and Other Strand Releasing Trailers.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $34.99.

'Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives' Blu-ray Detailed

The winner of the Palme d'Or at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival, now bound for Blu-ray in July, has just been fully detailed.
As previously reported, Strand Releasing will release the Thai fantasy 'Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives' directed by Apichatpong Weerasethakul on Blu-ray on July 12.
Suffering from acute kidney failure, Uncle Boonmee has chosen to spend his final days surrounded by his loved ones in the countryside. Surprisingly, the ghost of his deceased wife appears to care for him, and his long lost son returns home in a non-human form. Contemplating the reasons for his illness, Boonmee treks through the jungle with his family to a mysterious hilltop cave – the birthplace of his first life…
The Blu-ray will feature 1080p video, a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, and supplements include: A Letter to Uncle Boonmee, deleted scenes, an interview with the director, and other trailers from Apichatpong Weerasethakul.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $34.99.
