'Jig' Announced for Blu-ray

Sue Bourne's acclaimed dance documentary is planned for Blu-ray next month.
In an early announcement to retailers, Screen Media Films will release 'Jig' for Blu-ray on October 4.
'Jig' is the remarkable story of the 40thIrish Dancing World Championships, held in Glasgow, Scotland. This feature length documentary gives viewers unprecedented access to the little known world of competitive Irish Dancing. Thousands of dancers and their families and teachers from around the globe descend upon Glasgow for one drama-filled week. Clad in wigs, make up, fake tans, diamonds, and dresses costing thousands of dollars, these ambitious dancers won't let anything stand in their way as they will compete for the coveted world titles.
Specs haven't been revealed yet, but the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack will include: Audio commentary with director Sue Bourne and world champion John Carey, Irish Dance Dresses: Interview with costume designer Gavin Doherty, The Dziaks from Chicago, Breaking of the Guinness World Record: Special Footage, and Bonus Story Segments.
Suggested list price for this release is $38.98.

'Fubar: Balls to the Wall' Announced for Blu-ray

The headbanging comedy goes high-def next month.
In an early announcement to retailers, Screen Media Films will release 'Fubar: Balls to the Wall' for Blu-ray on April 19.
In 'Fubar: Balls to the Wall,' headbanger relics, Terry (Dave Lawrence) and Dean (Paul J. Spence), are tired of trying to give'r while barely scraping by, so when their old buddy, Tron (Andrew Sparacino), hooks them up with jobs they head up North to make sweet cash working on the pipelines during the holidays. Flush with money and confidence, Terry starts dating Trish (Terra Hazelton), a local waitress, and things get serious in a hurry. Meanwhile, Dean is playing up the part of ‘cancer survivor,’ and upon hearing about the glories of Worker’s Compensation, purposely injures himself in an attempt to qualify.
When Terry then moves in with Trish, Dean does his best to save his buddy from swapping the banger life for domestic captivity, but his own life starts to spiral out of control when the Workers’ Compensation Board denies his claim and his doctor shows up out of the blue with some fateful news. Completely broken by his own self-destruction, Dean must rise to take control and fight for the things that mean the most: his family, his friends, and Christmas.
