Four 1970s thrillers from director Pete Walker will be packaged together in a Blu-ray boxed set this November.

In an early announcement to retailers, Redemption is preparing 'The Pete Walker Collection' for Blu-ray on November 20.

'Die Screaming Marianne' (1971): Marianne (Susan George, 'Straw Dogs'), following the sudden death of her mother, stands to inherit the family fortune, along with several documents that could incriminate her corrupt judge of a father. Now, her sister and her father both want their hands on Marianne's inheritance and they'll stop at nothing, even murder, to get it!

'House of Whipcord' (1974): A beautiful model is taken prisoner and held in a bizarre private prison where ''immoral women'' are subjected to brutality and degradation. Stars Penny Irving, Patrick Barr and Barbara Markham.

'Schizo' (1976): A little girl watches helplessly as she is the sole witness to her mother's murder. Years later, that little girl has grown into the beautiful skating star Samantha Gray (Lynne Frederick). But after her wedding announcement is published in the local newspaper, a man who becomes more and more obsessed with her begins turning up everywhere she goes. Samantha's fear mounts as one by one her friends are murdered, and she becomes convinced that the stalker is no stranger! this suspenseful horror thriller was one of the early slasher films, rich with gore, an intriguing story, scenes reminiscent of Psycho and a twist ending considered so frightening that squeamish theater patrons were promised free smelling salts if they fainted!

'The Comeback' (1978): Seeking a little peace and quiet to write some new songs, a washed-up American singer (''The Love Boat'' theme crooner Jack Jones) moves into a secluded English house. But his mind isn't on a new romance when he's contacted by his ex-wife's ghost, whose clues about her murder lead Jones to a confrontation with the killer. Offbeat chiller also stars Pamela Stephenson ('Superman III,' ''Saturday Night Live''), David Doyle (''Charlie's Angels''), Holly Palance ('The Omen'). (aka ''The Day the Screaming Stopped'' and ''Encore'').

Specs and supplements have yet to be revealed, but suggested list price for the 4-disc Blu-ray set is $89.95.

'The Living Dead Girl' and 'Two Orphan Vampires' Announced for Blu-ray

Two cult horrors from director Jean Rollin will sink their teeth into Blu-ray at the end of the month.

In an early announcement to retailers, Kino's Redemption label is preparing 'The Living Dead Girl' for Blu-ray on August 28.

Catherine Valmont (Francoise Blanchard, Sidewalks of Bangkok), a wealthy heiress dead before her time...is accidentally reanimated when some unfortunate movers attempt to store drums of chemical waste in the neglected burial vaults below her uninhabited chateau.

It comes mastered in HD from the 35mm negative, and is presented in its original French language soundtrack with optional English subtitles. The disc includes special features, including an introduction by Jean Rollin himself; four featurettes by Daniel Gouyette: "Jean-Pierre Bouyxou on La Morte Vivante", "The Living Dead Girl:The American Version", "Music by Philippe D'Aram", and "When I Was Seventeen:An Homage to Benoit Lestang"; Jean Rollin at Fantasia (2007, 36 min.); an excerpt of an interview with Jean Rollin by Joshua T. Gravel; a 12-page booklet with an essay by Tim Lucas, editor of Video Watchdog; the original theatrical trailer; and original trailers of nine other Rollin films.

The director's 'Two Orphan Vampires' will also be available on Blu-ray on the same date.

'Two Orphan Vampires' (Les Deux Orphelines Vampires) follows Henriette and Louise (Isabelle Teboul and Alexandra Pic), two blind girls of unknown origin, raised in an orphanage by two adoring nuns. Little do the nuns know, each night as the sun goes down, their 'little angels' acquire night vision (they 'see blue'), as well as an appetite for blood and teenage mischief.

Rollin's entire filmography, more or less, could be summarized as a poetical consideration of death, termination, and unreality, but coming to terms with his own pending death had a way of affecting how he regarded them (the film was undertaken just as he was diagnosed with kidney failure).

Something previously conceptual and child-like, nostalgic and precious in Rollin's work becomes more concrete and dimensional, unflinching and adult. When they commit one violent transgression against their kindly benefactor, the scene's abrupt and awkward brutality recalls the best of Henri-Georges Clouzot." (excerpt of the essay by Tim Lucas).

Specs have yet to be revealed, but supplements will include: English dubbed version; Memories of a Blue World, the Making of Les Deux Orphelines Vampires by Daniel Gouyette, featuring interviews with the film's cast and crew; Interview with Jean Rollin by Rebecca Johnson; Twelve-page booklet with an essay by Tim Lucas, editor of Video Watchdog; original theatrical trailer; and original trailers of nine other Rollin films.

Suggested list price for each Blu-ray is $24.95.

'Burke & Hare' Announced for Blu-ray

The 1972 black comedy will make its high-definition debut in July.

In an early announcement to retailers, Kino Video is prepping 'Burke & Hare' for Blu-ray on July 17.

Two of the most notorious figures in the history of medicine, William Burke and William Hare were a pair of enterprising street thugs who provided anatomical specimens to the Edinburgh Medical College--often by robbing the graves of the recently dead, sometimes through even more nefarious methods.

Derren Nesbitt and Glynn Edwards bring these two scoundrels to life in 'Burke & Hare,' a colorful, early '70s rendition of life in the taverns, brothels, and surgical theatres of 1820s Scotland.

While other filmmakers have treated the Burke and Hare murders as a source of gothic horror, director Vernon Sewell ('The Blood Beast Terror') offers a playful spin on the Irish body snatchers, blending dark comedy with bawdy eroticism, seasoning it with the grotesque, then crowning it with a playful theme song by the pop band The Scaffold.

Specs have yet to be revealed, but supplements will include Grave Desires: Corpses on Film -- an interview with Dr. Patricia MacCormack, Interview with actress Francoise Pascal, and the original theatrical trailer.

Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $19.95.
