More details and a new street date have emerged for Neil Young's 'Archives Volume One,' with the man himself announcing an early-June Blu-ray release via his official website.
As previously reported, the rock legend had announced ambitious plans last year to release his entire back catalog on Blu-ray in multiple, extensive special edition box sets. A tentative February 24 street date was originally announced for the Warner Music Group release, but never materialized.
Now, Young has stated that the first installment in the landmark Blu-ray release, 'Neil Young: Archives Volume One (1963-1972)' is planned for a June 2 street date.
Spanning ten discs, the set will boast no less than 128 tracks, among them 43 unreleased songs and 13 never-before-heard by the public.
Also included are two complete live albums, "Live At The Fillmore East" and "Live At Massey Hall 1971."
Video extras feature the full-length documentary "Journey Through the Past."
Rounding out this impressive Blu-ray release is a 236-page hardcover book, plus lyrics written by Neil Young, newspaper articles, letters and a Young timeline.

As previously reported, Warner had set a July 28 release date for the epic Blu-ray, as well as revealed initial specs for the classic rock documentary.
The studio has now issued final details, as well as a new street date -- fans will be able to snatch up 'Woodstock' over a month earlier than expected, on June 9.
As confirmed earlier, a nearly four-hour cut has been assembled from newly-found elements under the supervision of director Michael Wadleigh. Extras are copious, and fall under three extensive new documentaries: "The Museum at Bethelwoods: The Story of the Sixties & Woodstock," "Woodstock: Untold Stories," "Woodstock: From Festival to Feature." Content includes filmmaker interviews, fan recollections, rare footage, archival still material, and no less than eighteen bonus performances.
Exclusive to the Blu-ray is a Custom Playlist feature, and a BD-Live-enabled Media Center that will offer downloadable content, Live Community Screenings and a My WB Commentary function.
Tech specs will see a BD-50 dual-layer disc with 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video (1.85:1) and DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround audio.
